Rome defended the upper class against proletarian outbursts, and in defense of the Hellenes, Rome crushed the Jews and other Easterners, who challenged Hellenism in Cyprus, Egypt, Syria, and Cyrenaica. Likewise Rome occasionally persecuted the Christians. (Enc. Americana, entry Hellenism)

Historian Robert Wolfe explains: “The Romans and their Greek allies killed something like 2 or 3 million Jews during this period out of a total Jewish population of approximately 7 million within the boundaries of the so-called ‘Roman Empire.’ The total number of Jewish casualties reported by Josephus for the ‘First Jewish War’ add up approximately 1,300,000. The Roman historian Dio Cassius states that 580,000 Jews were killed during the ‘Second Jewish War.’ Historians estimate that many hundreds of thousands of Jews were killed by the Romans and Greeks during the ‘Diaspora Revolt’ of 115-17 CE. There were close to 1 million Jews in Egypt alone at the start of this period, yet hardly any remaining by the end of the 2nd c. CE. The large Jewish communities in Syria and Turkey were likewise decimated…By the end of the 2nd c. CE, only 750,000 Jews remained in Judah, home of something like 4 million Jews prior to the Roman onslaught.

The developing anti-Semitic nature of Christianity perfectly reflects the hardening attitudes of the western Empire to the Jews. By the early 4th century Eusebius was describing with relish how the destruction of Jerusalem was God’s punishment on the Jews for the murder of his son. At the end of the 4th century St. John Chrysostom was preaching that demons dwelt in synagogue and in the souls of Jews, and St. Augustine was writing in a treatise Against the Jews:” You in your parents killed Christ.” In 412 Cyril became Patriarch of Alexandria and one of his first acts was to incite the monks to pillage and expel from the city the wealthy Jewish community some 40,000 strong. Similarly, they expelled them from their Holy Land and Jesus’ crucifixion was the justification of the robbery of their homeland. During the 5th century the Emperors safeguarded the survival of the Jewish communities, but as second-class citizens, “in order that they might serve as a living testimony to the Christian interpretation of the scriptures and to the victory of the Catholic Church.”

The Traitor who became the “First Pope”

And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me. – Lk 22:34. Now Peter sat without in palace: and a damsel came unto him saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth. And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee. Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the crock crew. – Mt. 27:69-74

And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wandering. And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? Or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. (Acts 3:12-15). Well, he identified Jesus’ god with the God of the Hebrew Bible. And, please note, this “Prince of life” was raised from the dead by YHWH i.e. the God of the Bible.

The following is a portion of the discussion of the death of Jesus found in the Talmud, Sanhedrin 43a:
“On the eve of Passover Jesus was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, “He is going forth to be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy. Any one who can say anything in his favor let him come forward and plead on his behalf.” But since nothing was brought forward in his favor, he was hanged on the eve of Passover. Ulla retorted: Do you suppose he was one for whom a defense could be made? Was he not a mesith (enticer), concerning whom Scripture says, ‘Neither shall thou spare nor shall thou conceal him?’” With Jesus, however, it was different, for he was connected with the government” i.e. with the Herodian dynasty.

You see, Peter, the beloved disciple of Jesus had the opportunity to come forward and plead on Jesus’ behalf. Instead he had chosen to deny him and so to condemn him to death. Had he any moral right to reproach the Jews? He had admitted “through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers” (Acts 3:17). But his denial did not come ‘through ignorance’ (See, Mt 16:13-19)! And yet he had the nerve to say, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…” Acts 3:19

Crucifixion according to the apocryphal Gospel of Peter

The final pages of this gospel were discovered in 1886 in the grave of a Christian monk in Egypt. The text begins in the middle of a passage with the statement that “None of the Jews washed his hands, neither did Herod nor any of his judges. As they did not wish to wash, Pilate got up. Evidently, the preceding passage narrated the story, otherwise known only from Matthew, of Pilate’s washing his hands at Jesus’ trial (Mt. 27:24). In Peter’s account, however, the emphasis is not on Pilate, who is throughout portrayed as innocent of Jesus’ death, but on Herod, the king of the Jews, and on the Jewish leaders who collaborated with him. They do not wash their hands – that is, they are seen as guilty for Jesus’ blood. In the next verse, it is Herod who orders Jesus to be taken out and crucified.

Pilate commands the soldiers to silence, but only after reminding the Jewish leaders that Jesus’ crucifixion was indeed their fault, not his. Christian anti-Judaism began to assert itself with particular vigor. One by-product of this heightened animosity is that Christians began to exonerate Pilate for Jesus’ death and to blame Jews, indeed, all Jews, more and more. In the Gospel of Peter, it is Jews who actually do the dirty work of crucifying Jesus. Later, they regret it, and explicitly express their fears that Jerusalem will now be destroyed as a result of their actions.

Ecumenism in Hatred

Special Dispatch-Egypt/Antisemitism Documentation Project August 18, 2006No. 1255The Mufti of Egypt: The True Face of the Blood-Sucking Hebrew Entity has Been Exposed To view this Special Dispatch in HTML, visit: http://www.memri.org/bin/opener_latest.cgi?ID=SD125506

In an article in the Egyptian government daily Al-Ahram, Egyptian Mufti Sheikh Dr. 'Ali Gum'a expressed his support of the resistance in Lebanon and stated that the lies of the "Hebrew entity" expose "the true and hideous face of the blood-suckers... who prepare [Passover] matzos from human blood." The ancient Christian accusation that ‘The Jews Murdered Jesus’ has become a standard widespread cliché in Arab anti-Semitic discourse. One example: Y. Arafat’s adviser Bassam Abu Sharif, writing in the London-based Saudi daily Al Sharq al-Awsat, referred to the Virgin Mary statue that was damaged by Israeli fire during the siege of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. He wrote: “The sad smile of the Virgin Mary as she shields her son, the Messiah, did not prevent the soldiers of the Israeli occupation from taking up positions to shoot at the face of this Palestinian angel (i.e. Jesus) and murder the smile so as to murder throughout 2.000 years.

July 23, 2000 – “Eternal struggle”: The Palestinian Authority Television program “Good Morning Jerusalem” features an artist with a painting of Jesus between two Israeli soldiers. The artist tells the viewing audience: “Our struggle today against the Other is an eternal struggle: one can say that it began 2,000 years ago and it continues until today. I portray this with the figure of Jesus who came to the world with the gospel of justice, and the Other Side did what they did to him, and the Palestinian demands the same justice, and deal with us the same way.”

July 24, 2000 – “Jewish murderers”: The official Palestinian daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadidah publishes an article in its issue headlined, “Nazareth: The City Where the Jews Murdered the First Palestinian of Her Sons.” The article declares: “Nazareth became famous as the place where Jesus grew up…The Jews tried to attack the city many times in order to disperse the people of Nazareth and uproot them, just as they obliterated many Arab villages…The forces of the Zionist occupation did not succeed in altering the face of the Palestinian Nazareth, and that she did not forget and will not forget her first son that the Jews betrayed and handed him over to the Roman emperor, and persisted until he was taken out to be killed.”

John Paul II’s visit to Syria in 2001 was supposed to amplify this anti-Jewish hate propaganda. In Damascus, Syrian President Bashar Assad welcomed the Pope with an anti-Israeli spleen-buster that veered irrationally from contemporary Middle East politics to ancient but still vibrant anti-Semitism. The Israelis, the second-generation dictator said, tortured and killed innocent Palestinians. He suggested Christians and Muslims join forces not only against the Jewish state, but against Judaism itself – the people “who try to kill the principles of all religions with the same mentality with which they betrayed Jesus Christ.” This repetition of historic anti-Semitism – the Jew as the Christ killer – is something of a modern innovation for Islamic countries, maybe the one Western development they have adopted with alacrity. Interestingly enough, according to the teaching of the Koran Jesus never died on the cross but was taken up into heaven uninjured! President’s of Syria outburst was to convince the world that Pope John Paul II rejected the theological reform of Vatican II and joined the neo-Nazi movement advanced by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and in in the USA by actor M. Gibson and his father. They were counterparts of Nasrallah in Lebanon. Interestingly, in 1988 when Secretary of State Shultz frantically sought to establish political contacts with PLO’s fuehrer Y. Arafat, Archbishop Lefebvre had ordained four bishops and 16 of his followers as priests. Excommunication of the “rebel archbishop” notwithstanding, Card. Ratzinger visited Lefebvre’s seminary.

The Pope’s Thumbs Up For Gibson’s ‘Passion’

“Mel Gibson’s The Passion gets a thumbs-up from the Pope,” was the jolly image conjured by a headline over Peggy Noonan’s column for the Wall Street Journal Web site as she relayed the happy news this Christmas season” on Dec. 17. In Ms. Noonan’s view, the pope’s blessing was likely to settle the controversy over a movie that Jewish and Christian critics alike have faulted for its potential to reignite the charge of deicide against the Jews. It was also perfectly timed to boost the bookings of a movie scheduled to open nationally on Feb. 25, Ash Wednesday. Gibson’s film was to justify the destruction of the state of Israel and replacing it with a Palestinian state, exactly like in the aftermath of the crucifixion of Jesus.
Jewish hope dashed
The reaction of Jews to the publication of The Gospel of Judas is understandable. There was a bit of pathos in the prominence given in Israel to the publication of the Gospel of Judas. The story appeared prominently on the front page of Ha’aretz. Prominent radio talk shows interviewed leading experts and asked time and again, would the revelation work to end the religious basis of anti-Semitism? Ira Sharkansky, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem concluded his article for the Jerusalem Post not without bitterness: “We should hope for the best in the continuing efforts of the Roman Catholic Church and other Christian leaders to accept Jews as something other than Christ killers.” But it may be that the cartoonist of Ha’aretz got the story better than the serious writer of the front-page article. He pictures two worried fathers of the Church, with one of them saying, That Judah is again causing problems. Indeed.

Agenzia Giornalistica Italia reported on April 13:

Vatican: Pope banishes Judas’ Gospel

The Vatican, by word of Pope Ratzinger, grants the recently surfaced Judas’ Gospel no credit with regards to its apocryphal claims that Judas betrayed Jesus in compliance with the latter’s own requests. According to the Pope Judas freely chose to betray Jesus “an open rejection of God’s love”. Judas according to Ratzinger “viewed Jesus in terms of power and success his only real interests lied with his power and success, there was no love involved. He was a greedy man: money was more important than communion with Jesus; money came before God and his love.” According to the Pope it was due to these traits that led Judas to “turn liar, two-faced indifferent to the truth,” “losing any sense of God,” “turning hard, incapable of converting, of being the prodigal son, hence throwing away a spent existence.” (http://www.agi.it/english/news.pl?doc=)

Such outbursts contrast strongly with the church’s non-condemnation of Mel Gibson’s 2004 movie, The Passion of the Christ, which outraged many Jews and theologically conscious Christians with its near-pornographic violence and emphasis on scriptural passages blaming Jews for the death of Jesus. Nothing is so sure of itself as fanaticism.

Well, Rev. Ioannes Rakhman of the Jakarta Theologiocal Seminary when asked by The Jakarta Post’s Evi Mariani:

Can we say these findings indicate progress? answered:
“If the findings manage to shift the prevailing beliefs and Christianity is ready to face that, we can say Christianity is growing more mature. Openness to various findings is clearly one indicator of maturity and progress in a human being.” (www.thejakartapost.com/misc/)

Some Bible experts have claimed Judas’ traditional portrayal as a sinister villain has helped foster anti-Semitism through the ages. In medieval plays and paintings, Judas is portrayed with a hooked nose and exaggerated Semitic features. This Christian visual propaganda matches or even surpasses in many cases the anti-Semitic cartoons of the Nazi Der Stuermer.

Because the Judas story has been the direct cause of the death of millions of Jews at the hands of faithful Christians it should be kept in mind that it is a shameful history based on a preposterous fabrication, which distorts the truth about Jews in the time of Jesus. Sadly, Vatican Council II notwithstanding, armies of Christian “soldiers” continue to march to the ancient drumbeat broadcast from the Vatican.

According to the Gospel of John, contrary to Jesus’ repeated prophecy, Judas did not betray him with a kiss. Jesus simply asked the soldiers who were they looking for. On having been told “Jesus of Nazareth” he readily acknowledged his identity without being kissed by Judas! (John 18:7-8) Judas’ kiss was redundant because Jesus himself said that he could have been arrested any day he taught in the Temple: “Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. (Mt 26:55). These words of Jesus are repeated by the remaining three evangelists. There is no such unanimous report from four evangelists regarding Judas’s offer to betray Jesus. Two evangelists: Mark and Matthew confirm that Judas offered to betray Jesus but the two remaining: Luke and John don’t blame Judas for such an offer! In other words, the guilt of Judas was not proven “beyond reasonable doubt” by the canonical gospels. After two thousand years he fully deserves the principle of “presumed innocent until proven guilty” to be applied to him. Especially after publication of “his” Gospel which, therefore, deserves the title The Gospel of Rehabilitation.

The Timing of the Papal Attack on the Gospel of Judas tells a lot

The papal attack on The Gospel of Judas came on Thursday April 13. On Sunday April 16, in his first Easter message as pontiff, Pope Benedict urged nations to use diplomacy to defuse nuclear crises and prayed that Palestinians would one day have their own state alongside Israel. The timing of his prayer, on the day closing the traditional Passion week when the anti-Semitic feelings of the Christians run exceedingly high, was chosen to achieve the maximum effect. (The Arab historian Philip Hitti testified in 1946 before the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry, “There is no such thing as ‘Palestine’ in history, absolutely not).

In harmony with this Papal prayer in Rome Greek bishops dismissed Gospel of Judas as “Zionist conspiracy” designed to cause scandal.

You see, in the Darfur region, Arab militias and African Christian rebels have fought for nearly three years, with the Arab militias forcing out Sudanese, Christian farmers in a campaign of rape, killing and arson that the United States has labeled genocide. Yet, the Pope did not even mention the word “autonomy” for these people.

Let me remind in this context that the Roman Church is capable of singing Te Deum over a massacre of St. Bartholomew, and of blessing Muslim swords drawn to slaughter orthodox Christians in the Balkans and elsewhere.

A Mexican bishop has said that the Vatican is still refusing to allow him to ordain permanent deacons from the indigenous populations in his diocese in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas. Bishop Felipe Arizmendi Esquival of San Cristobal de las Casas also said that he has been told to stop his formation programs for candidates to the permanent diaconate. The Vatican fears that the ordinations are part of a plan to develop an autonomous local church for the ordination of married priests, he said. (The Tablet Apr. 15, 2006)

According to Bernard Lewis, an eminent authority, “The word Palestine does not occur in the Old Testament…Palestine does not occur in the New Testament or The Qur’an at all.”

The official adoption of the name Palestine in Roman usage to designate the territories of the former Jewish principality of Judea seems to date after the suppression of the great Jewish revolt of bar-Kokhba in the year 135 C.E…It would seem that the name Judea was abolished…and the country renamed Palestine or Syria Palestina, with the … intention of obliterating its historic Jewish identity. The earlier name did not entirely disappear, and as late as the 4th century C.C. we still find a Christian author, Epiphanius, referring to “Palestine, that is, Judea.”

Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel ... -- Zuheir Muhsin, late Military Department head of the PLO and member of
its Executive Council, Dutch daily Trouw, March 1977

And that’s what the so-called peace process is all about, never ending war until the final destruction of the Jewish state.

When Th. Herzl approached Pope Pius X in Jan 1904, seeking his assistance for the Zionist venture, the pope dismissed him with these words: “We cannot favor this movement. The Jews did not recognize Jesus, our Lord, and we therefore cannot recognize the Jewish people. If you come to Palestine and settle your people there we will be ready with priests and churches to baptize you.” And Card. Roncalli, the future Pope John XXIII, was sufficiently cooperative with Pius XII’s anti-Semitic policy, to advise the Curia against Jewish transportation to Palestine, which might challenge “Christian possession of the exceedingly profitable Holy Places. That’s why six million had to die! No pope throughout centuries has ever prayed that the Jews would one day have their own state alongside “Palestine”. On the contrary, it was mostly the Catholic priests who incited the Christian mob to pogroms and to complete isolation of the Jews inside their ghettos. Is not the fence that Israel built along its border a result of the perennial Roman ghettoization policy vis-à-vis the Jews?

Well, Pope John Paul II in his relentless pursuit of Palestinian statehood met with “martyrdom seeking” terrorist fuehrer Y. Arafat 14 times, thus turning Palestinians into the Vatican’s new “chosen people”, which was the core of the Roman policy of hate towards the Jews. The anti-Semitic mob applauded. John Paul II’s mad monk Father T. Rydzyk through his radio and TV stations promoted the Stuermer’s-like anti-Semitic propaganda even though it is against the Polish law. But in Poland the “Polish” Pope and his henchmen were and still are above the law. This sole fact adequately mirrors the Vatican obsession with and fear of the Jewish state. Because, the furious opposition of the Vatican notwithstanding, the Jewish people received, after centuries of dispersion, their Promised Land back; as the God of the Bible had promised them:

“Even if you are dispersed to the ends of the heavens, from there will YHWH your God gather you and from there will He take you up. And YHWH your God will bring you to the Land which your ancestors have inherited and you shall inherit it. And He will do well by you, and make you more numerous than your ancestors.” (Dt.30:4,5)

And the prophet Jeremiah said the same:
“The days are coming,” declares YHWH, “when men will no longer say, ‘as surely as the Lord lives who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but they will say, ‘as surely as YHWH lives who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the North and out of all the countries where he banished them.’ For I will restore them to the land that I gave to their forefathers…Then they will know that my name is YHWH.” Jer. 16:14-16, 21). No human effort can thwart God’s purpose.

In 1849, after reading passages like Jeremiah 16, a Bible student wrote the following words:
“There is … a …restoration of the Jews before the manifestation (i.e. return of Jesus)… The…colonization of Palestine will be on purely political principles; and the Jewish colonists will return in unbelief of the Messianship of Jesus, and of the truth as it is in him.” (John Thomas, Elpis Israel) (See, GladTidings, no. 1423)

The writer of these words clearly expected the Jews to return to Israel, or Palestine, as it was then known. He did not claim to be a prophet, he merely stated what the Bible had clearly said would happen. Note that he wrote these words almost one hundred years before the advance of the Zionist movement.

In 1938 Father Denis Fahey, professor of philosophy (like K. Wojtyla) published the booklet entitled, The Rulers of Russia that received imprimatur of Jeremias, Episcopus Waterfordensis and Lismorensis. And here is the most revealing paragraph of this booklet: “A step to be taken to undo the naturalism of the French Revolution and, at the same time, prevent onslaughts on the Jews, is to withdraw citizenship of other states from all of them and limit them to citizenship of one state, their own. That state must not be Palestine…” The imprimatur meant that it was a statement of the official Church policy. And that explains why the Vatican for so long period of time after WWII did not recognize Jewish statehood established in 1948.

This fact scares the Vatican hierarchs even more than the empty churches in Europe and in this country. Because, the fact that the Biblical prophecy came true and Pope Piux X’s “prophecy” about baptizing the Jews in Israel turned out a hollow promise to the Christian World proves beyond any doubt that the attempt at attributing to Jesus the powers and personality of God who created the Heavens and the earth can be viewed now as a useless comedy played by the Roman Church with mankind, as, after all, Jesus’ mission ranks scarcely less than a complete failure.

From the outset, Gibson was clear that the principal sources for his retelling of the crucifixion story were the Gospel of Matthew, the most problematic of the four Christian passion narratives, and the writings of Anne Catherine Emmerich, a 19th century nun and mystic who recorded her anti-Semitic "visions" of Jesus' arrest and execution. The filmmaker, in fact, reportedly keeps a relic of the nun. Then there was Gibson's repeated refusal to disavow the views of his father and spiritual mentor, Hutton Gibson, a notorious anti-Semite and Holocaust denier, who cheerfully shares public platforms with unrepentant neo-fascists like the odious Willis Carto. No one can demand that another person repudiate their father, but it's perfectly possible to say, "I love my father, but I don't agree with his ideas." Somehow, Gibson's refusal to do that never bothered "The Passion's" fans. Finally, there's the matter of the faith Mel Gibson inherited from that father — his so-called traditional Catholicism. Without making a tedious detour into the fetid theological swamp in which this movement was spawned, it should be clear to anybody who looks that it involves a lot more than simple nostalgia for the Latin Mass. Spend 15 minutes with literature of the independent traditionalists — like Gibson father and son — or their more organized brethren in the Societies of St. Pius X or St. Pius V and what jumps out at you is a pervasive, actually obsessive antagonism toward Jews and Judaism. Moreover, traditional Catholicism's American variants all are infected to one degree or another with the ideas of the Jew-baiting Boston Jesuit Leonard Feeney, who was excommunicated by Pope Pius XII. Yet the commentators and clergy who applauded "The Passion of the Christ" treated Gibson's traditionalism as a kind of minor eccentricity — sort of like a guy still holding onto his eight-track tapes. How involved in this movement is Mel Gibson?
This was posted on a leading independent traditionalist website this week: "Mel Gibson may have a personal drinking problem, but he sure puts his money where his mouth is when it comes to his deep traditional Catholic Faith. The World Faith Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, of which Gibson is a principal benefactor, has purchased a church complex in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, for $750,000. The existing church will be converted into a traditional Catholic Church, which will serve as a regional center for the Traditional Latin Mass and Sacraments … WFF had already purchased a ranch-style house earlier in 2006 for $315,000. An independent traditional Catholic congregation, St. Michael the Archangel, pastored by an independent priest, will move … to the new location…. The producer-director's father, Hutton Gibson, a traditional Catholic writer and publisher associated with the WFF, has already moved to the Greenburg area to oversee the complex for the foundation."The writer goes on to point out that Gibson spent $5 million to build a similar traditionalist church near his home in Malibu. So why was all this ignored — or worse, dismissed — when so many conservative commentators and clergy were busily putting their collective imprimatur on Gibson's "Passion"?

Mel Gibson’s Fault (Editorian in The Tablet of Aug 12)

So many people have been quick to flog Mel Gibson for recently falling off the wagon and uttering intemperate words about Jews that we wonder what really is going on here.

Isn’t this the same man who brought us the wonderful meditation-film, The Passion of the Christ? Can we really believe that a person of such faith would say such things as he is reported to have said?

Then again, there are those who will never forgive Mel Gibson for producing The Passion with all its glorious and rich imagery of the Christian faith. The popularly acclaimed film certainly was not a favorite among Hollywood types who would rather point to the failures and misdeed of Church leaders.

Mel Gibson deserves a break and a supporting hand so that he never goes anywhere near alcohol again.

Which means that M. Gibson may be an anti-Semite but shouldn’t be bargging about that when he is drunk.

On Aug. 8, 2006, Al-Jazeera TV aired footage of a press conference with Gen. Hamid Gul. At the conference, Gul, who headed Pakistan’s Inter-service intelligence Directorate from 1987-89 and who, according to the Washington Times, was termed Pakistan’s “most dangerous man” by an internal CIA assessment, told reporters that “every Israeli leader has said that Pakistan is their number one enemy,” and quoted Mel Gibson, stating that “the Jews caused all the wars.”

According to an August 7, 2008 UPI article, general Gul, who is “known for pro-Taliban and pro-Al-Qaeda views, told the media that the United States would attack Syria and Iran next October, and that Pakistan, with its nuclear arsenal, was the only Islamic country that could use its nuclear capability to defeat Israel’s designs. Obviously, a few years later, professors Mearsheimer and Walt will write another article claiming that is was the Israel Lobby which pushed the US into these wars and Mel Gibson in another drunken bout will confirm that.
The Pope never read The Satanic verses?
"In May 1999, during an audience granted to three Muslims at the Vatican, Pope John Paul II bowed to the Muslim holy book, the Koran, and kissed it” (Christian News, Oct. 18, 1999, p. 16). The three Muslims were the Shiite Imam of Khadum mosque, the Sunni president of the Iraqi Islamic Bank, and a representative of the Iraqi ministry of religion. The photo of the gesture has been shown repeatedly on Iraqi television. . . The gesture was meant to show that the Pope shared The Muslim contempt for the Hebrew Bible.
On March 29, 2006 a man who faced the death penalty in Afghanistan for converting to Christianity was secretly flown to Italy, where he was granted asylum under round-the-clock protection by the government. In other words, he preferred to kiss the New Testament rather than the Holy Qur’an. During Pope John Paul II’s pontificate it was Italy’s ambassador to Riyadh who converted to Islam.
Let me remind here that the far-right Danish People’s Party postulated banning the Qur’an in Denmark because of some 200 verses that are to encourage violence. Their wish was granted, partially, in the form of the now world-famous Muhammad Cartoons.
Al Jazeera’s chief Islamist televangelist, Yussuf al-Qaradawi (an Egyptian preacher, who is also a friend of Ken Livingston, the mayor of London) was also ken to issue a “fatwa” to light the fuse. He then mobilized his network of Muslim Brotherhood militants in Europe to attack the cartoons and claim, falsely, that images were not allowed in Islam and that the Danish paper had violated “an absolute principle of The Only True Faith.”
The fight between Denmark and its detractors is not between the West and Islam. It is between democracy and a global fascist movement masquerading as religion. A friendship with a mufti obliges, so it came as no surprise that Mayor Ken Livingstone writing in Britain’s Guardian newspaper said Israel was engaged in “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians and said the Israeli prime minister should be imprisoned. Livingstone denied accusations that he is anti-Semitic, but added that the Israeli government has over dramatized anti-Semitic incidents in Europe to suggest that Jews face discrimination. Who could expect anything else from a British aristocrat after the Nazi ideologue A. Rosenberg had extolled the “aristocratic principle of nature,” which translates into the policy of not imposing taxes on the richest upper class. Recall that the Queen of the Mean L. Helmsey once declared that the rich people don’t pay taxes.

In the wake of a furor over the wearing of a Nazi uniform to a costume party by Britain’s Prince Harry, the country’s Princess Michael of Kent has angered Jewish groups over a newspaper interview in which she attributed the media outcry surrounding the event to the “structure of its ownership – a comment seen as an anti-Semitic accusation of a Jewish media conspiracy. The Austrian-born princess is the daughter of a World War II-era Nazi party member and SS officer.

Libyan Leader Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi on Al-Jazeera on April 10, 2006: "There are Signs That Allah Will Grant Islam Victory in Europe;" Europe & the U.S. "Should Agree to Become Islamic... or Else Declare War on the Muslims:"

"The so-called Old Testament and New Testament are neither Old Testament nor New Testament - because both testaments were superseded, and they are forged. They were written by hand hundreds of years after Jesus."

"In the Bible there are things that are inappropriate for both Jesus and Moses. If we want to mend the state of humanity, and live in a global village, because of the globalization, we must search for the true Bible, because the Bible that exists today is a forgery. Today's Bible does not mention Muhammad, whereas our Lord's Bible mentions Muhammad repeatedly."

"We must search for the Gospel of Barnabas*, of St. Barnabas, because this is the true gospel."

"This gospel explicitly mentions that Muhammad would come after Jesus."

* A Renaissance forgery, The Gospel of Barnabas was discovered in the beginning of the 18th century by the Prussian councilor J.F. Cramer, who had acquired the only known Italian manuscript in Amsterdam. The introduction of the Spanish printed version of the book tells us how a friar named Fra Marino had found the Gospel in the library of Pope Sixtus V, at a moment when the Holy Father had taken a little nap. The friar is said to have been so impressed by the reading that he converted to Islam.

The teaching of The Gospel of Barnabas appears with full evidence in the passage where Jesus tells his disciples about the Creation and the Fall. When Adam is created, he sees a writing in the air with the Islamic confession: “There is only one God, and Mohammed is the messenger of God” (Chapter 39) Jesus tells James (Chapter 43) that the Messiah descends not from Isaac, as the Jews believe, but from Ishmael, from whom the only true Messiah – Mohammed – will descend. Accordingly, it is not Isaac but Ishmael whom Abraham was ordered to sacrifice (Wouldn’t that explain the willingness of Palestinian parents to sacrifice their children as living bomb?). Finally, Jesus declares that he has seen Mohammed in a vision and cries out: “O Mohammed, God be with thee, and may he make me worthy to untie thy shoelaces, for obtaining this I shall be a great prophet and holy one of God” (Chapter 44)

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of the Ahmadiyya movement in India, used The Gospel of Barnabas as early as 1899, eight years before its publication. When the Oxford edition appeared in 1907, it was supported by those involved with the Cairo periodical al-Manar, which published the first edition in Arabic in 1908. Many new editions have followed, and the Gospel of Barnabas is till important as ever in the Arab world and in the Islamic mission in the West. In the Islamic Cultural Center in London there is always an impressive stock of this Gospel in English, intended for free distribution. Now they added to this stack a mountain of the Israel Lobby by two leftist professors. They are true theologians of liberation made in USA. Hezbollah’s TV station is also called Al-Manar. Among other things Al Manar programs present the blood libel – the medieval canard that caused so much bloodshed against the Jews.

France’s highest administrative court ordered the operatives of the French satellite, Eutelsat, to stop beaming Al Manar, the popular Arab-language channel run by the Hezbollah militia out of Lebanon, which transmits anti-Semitic, anti-American and anti-Israeli broadcasts.
The delay by the court reflects the delicate nature of the impending ruling after a yearlong campaign by the French government to shut down Al Manar because of its anti-Semitic and racist reports and support of violence. It broadcast a report claiming that Israel for years had spread H.I.V. the virus that causes AIDS, and other diseases throughout the Arab world. Reflect, in the context of this propaganda of hate, on Y. Arafat’s last trip to Paris. His picture evoking that of dying Rock Hudson was supposed to prove that he was, indeed, infected with H.I.V. virus, of course, by the Mossad and not as result of his innumerable homosexual acts.
Al Manar is available in dozens of countries around the world through a network of international satellite providers. It is broadcast in Europe via Eutelsat, based in Paris, as part of package of nine channels put out by Arabsat, based in Saudi Arabia.
It is even available in the United States, despite the fact that Hezbollah has been listed by the State Department as a terrorist organization since 1997. (NYT, December 14, 2004)

The pope and the Koran or behind the electoral victory of Hamas
During Pope John Paul II's pilgrimage to the Holy Land which lasted from March 21 till March 26, 2000 protesting Jews were holding posters that read: "Pius XII – Hitler's Pope, John Paul II – Hamas' Pope." You can see these scenes in the newly released Polish film about this pilgrimage entitled The Double Promised Land.
Islam and Muslims are expected to be a priority for Pope Benedict XVI, but he has been publicly quite muted on these topics during his first nine months in office. One report, however, provides important clues to his current thinking.Father Joseph D. Fessio, SJ, recounted on the Hugh Hewitt Show the details of a seminar he attended with the pope in September 2005 on Islam. Participants heard about the ideas of Fazlur Rahman, a Pakistani-born liberal theologian (1919-88) who held that if Muslims thoroughly reinterpret the Koran, Islam can modernize. He urged a focus on the principles behind Koranic legislation such as jihad, cutting off thieves’ hands, or permitting polygyny, in order to modify these customs to fit today’s needs. When Muslims do this, he concluded, they can prosper and live harmoniously with non-Muslims.Pope Benedict reacted strongly to this argument. He has been leading such annual seminars since 1977 but always lets others speak first, waiting until the end to comment. But hearing about Fazlur Rahman’s analysis, Fr. Fessio’s recalled with surprise, the pope could not contain himself:This is the first time I recall where he made an immediate statement. And I’m still struck by it, how powerful it was…[T]he Holy Father, in his beautiful calm but clear way, said well, there’s a fundamental problem with that [analysis] because, he said, in the Islamic tradition, God has given His word to Muhammad, but it’s an eternal word.

It’s not Muhammad’s word. It’s there for eternity the way it is. There’s no possibility of adapting it or interpreting it.This basic difference, Pope Benedict continued, makes Islam unlike Christianity and Judaism. In the latter two religions, “God has worked through His creatures. And so, it is not just the word of God, it’s the word of Isaiah, not just the word of God, but the word of Mark. He’s used His human creatures, and inspired them to speak His word to the world.” Jews and Christians “can take what’s good” in their traditions and mold it. There is, in other words, “an inner logic to the Christian Bible, which permits it and requires it to be adapted and applied to new situations.”

I remember that the library of the Oriental Institute of the Carcow University where I was studying at first Arabic and then Hebrew possessed hundreds of copies of brick-like Qura’ans printed by the Wehrmacht presses during WWII with the purpose of being distributed among the Mulism population of the Soviet Union. The Nazis did not print the Bible which was derided by Hitler as “Jewish folklore and therefore contemptible nonsense.”

In the past, the Iranian President Ahmedinejad denied that the Holocaust ever took place. In the letter to U.S. President Bush, he claims there is no justification for the creation of Israel, even if 6 million Jews were killed. He also blasts Bush for U.S. support of Israel, saying there’s no justification for the Jewish state’s existence.

Prof. H.Bloom in his latest book JESUS AND YAHWEH. THE NAMES DIVINE (Riverhead Books. New York 2005p. 196) wrote: Exodus 15:3 magnificently intones, “YHWH is a Man of War, the Lord is His name.” YHWH reveals himself to the embattled legions of Joshua, Moses’ general, as a man in order to sanctify and to strengthen an Israel embattled then, through the ages, right now, and doubtless forever to come, since all the road maps are illusory traps that offer only suicide to the state of Israel. One reflects that even such suicide would not appease the rapaciousness of French and other European anti-Semitism, which contrives to survive even the ebbing-away of European Christianity.

Jesus describes his mission in similar military terms: “I am come to set the world on fire; and what can I wish if it were already started…Suppose ye that I came here to establish peace. Not peace I tell you, but rather discord…” (Lk. 12:49-51)

The perpetuators of the Pax Romana held that only a universal monarch could ensure the peace necessary for the earthly well-being of mankind. Romans idolized their sun emperors, even worshiped them as gods; at least one quarter of the population of the empire was enslaved. Interestingly, the walls of the Augustean Temple of Peace (Ara Pacis Augustae) were adorned with swastikas. Accordingly the Holy Spirit of the Diocese of Arras has the shape of swastika.

Proclaiming one’s prowess and denigrating the enemy’s has been the norm through millennia of Egyptian wall paintings. Greek vases, Arabic poetry, Chinese drawings. English ballads, and Russian theater. Why have combatants now reversed this age-old and universal pattern, downplaying their own prowess and promoting the enemy’s? Battlefield superiority used to be the goal, now it is assumed before a shot is fired. Victory used to be the goal, now it’s peace (www.danielpipes.org/article/3849 and www.danielpipes.org/blog/653)

Not Another Peace Processor

Israel would be immeasurably better off if the word “peace” were banished from all publication as an obscenity. If you strive for peace, you get war. If you prosecute a war successfully and then just shut up and stop whimpering about peace demand terms that favor you, you will get respect. If the Arabs think they will win, they have to take diplomacy seriously. How many years more experience do you need, General, before you learn this? Or are you just angling for a political job?

Michal, USA (07.18.06)

Lebanese Christians’ Hope Dashed
The Prophet Muhammad said, "War is deception” -al-Bukhari, al-Jami al Sahih
With the war in Lebanon, the Vatican’s Middle East policies under Pope Benedict XVI have come into clearer focus. To the surprise of some, they look just like the policies of Pope John Paul II.

Pope Benedict’ hartfelt pleas to stop the carnage have echoed the dramatic appeals of Pope John Paul during times of Mideast conflict: “Our eyes are filled with chilling images of people’s bodies – especially children’s – torn apart,” Pope Benedict said. “I want to repeat that nothing can justify the spilling of innocent blood, no matter which side does it..”

In private talks, Vatican officials have asked that the US government use its influence with Israel to bring an immediate halt to hostilities.

To the Israelis, the Vatican has made it clear that it views its military offensive in Lebanon as a disproportionate use of force. Israel’s ambassador to the Vatican, Opded Ben-Hur, has made counterarguments.

“I say two things: first, that the proportion is to the amount of threat, and (Hezbollah) is putting the north of Israel, a million people, under the threat of missiles,” Ben-Hur told the Catholic News Service in an interview.

Secondly, what is the right proportion? Give it to me. What is it, 10 to five? One to one? One hundred to 1,000? There is no such thing,” he said.

Vatican officials are taking pains to emphasize several other points of diplomats:
New efforts are needed to solve the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, which is seen at the Vatican as the ultimate cause and context of the current problems in Lebanon. A resolution of the Palestinian question will come only through bilateral negotiations, not by solutions imposed by Israel, Vatican officials say. (The Tablet, Aug. 12, 06).

The Bush administration recalled its ambassador to Syria on 15 February, 2005 to protest what it sees as Syria’s link to the murder of the former prime minister of Lebanon, as violent anti-Syrian protests erupted in Beirut and several other Lebanese cities. (NYT, Feb. 16, 2005)

Iran, Syria team up to ward off threats – Iran and Syria, who both are facing pressure from the U.S. said on Feb. 16 they formed a united front to confront possible threat against them. Mohammed Reza Aref, Iran’s first vice president met Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Naji al-Otari.

Russia said Feb. 16 that it is negotiating the sale of anti-aircraft missiles to Syria but insisted they couldn’t be used as shoulder-fired weapons, an apparent bid to assuage U.S. and Israeli concerns they might fall into the hands of terrorists. (amNew York, Feb. 17, 2005)

Arab leaders ended a two-day summit conference in Algiers on Wednesday, March 23, 2005. Support was given to Syria against “foreign intervention” meaning pressure from the United States and France. At the same time they dismissed Security Council Resolution 1559, which calls for Syria to pull out of Lebanon and for the militant Shiite group Hezbollah to be disarmed.

About 51 out of every 100 people in Lebanon are Christians, and the other 49 are Moslem. The Christian population is divided into more than ten different sects. The largest single group is that of the Maronite Christians, who make up almost a third of the total population. The Maronites are descended from the Christian Arabs who lived in Lebanon before the Moslems. Their church is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. The Moslems are divided between the Sunni, or orthodox Moslems, and several sects, including the Shiites. The Druses are another Moslem sect, not friendly to Shiites.

Heil Hezbolla!

On Aug. 24, 1943, with Germany facing defeat in the Second World War, H. Himmler was appointed Reich minister of the interior, and now, with the S.S, constituted a separate military force (exactly like Hezbollah in Lebanon!), he was able to eject some of the leading generals who objected to his encroachments upon the authority of the army command (Enc. Americana, 1954, entry Himmler). The same nazi trick was behind the electoral victory of Hamas

Every once in a while, a photographic image emerges which captures the very essence of a major international issue. It doesn’t happen every day, but when it does, the power of the underlying problem suddenly becomes eminently clear.

One such photo (see attached) now appears on the website of Time magazine where young kids in a Hezbolla scouting troop are shown pledging to die for the cause while raising their hands in the air in a chillingly-familiar salute.

Coincidence? I doubt it. Hezbollah leaders are knowledgeable enough to understand the meaning of that pose, which was burned into the memory of the Jewish people, and that of the entire world, some six decades ago in the heart of Europe.

Hezbollah is not just “an Islamic militant group that operates in southern Lebanon” with Iranian sponsorship. Combining Islamic fanaticism with a modern anti-Semitic ideology derived from the Catholic Church and Nazism, with a media which spreads that ideology worldwide, and with a mass base and virtual state control of Lebanon, Hezbollah stands for the destruction of world Jewry and the creation of a world Islamofascist state, modeled on Iran.

Lebanese Expatriates Condemn Syria, Iran; and Praise Israel 00:26 Jul 26, '06 / 1 Av 5766by Nissan Ratzlav-Katz

Many Lebanese expatriate groups have roundly condemned the Hezbollah, Iran and Syria. Some of them are also calling for Israel to press ahead in its military campaign.

The Lebanese Canadian Coordinating Council (LCCC), a coalition of organizations in Canada, has released a statement laying out its vision of what measures should be endorsed by the world community at an international conference on the ongoing warfare in Lebanon. The conference is to be held in Rome on Wednesday, pursuant to a recommendation issued by the United Nations Security Council on July 21, 2006. Among the measures the LCCC is recommending are the dispatch of international combat forces to Lebanon, armed with the full authority and sufficient firepower to implement all clauses of UN resolution 1559. This would include the to mission to "disarm the Hezbollah group and the Palestinian organizations, and prevent and intercept the transfer of weapons to them from Iran and Syria." Another agenda item the LCCC called for is "a resolution by the United Nations condemning Syria and Iran, holding them responsible for the escalation leading to the catastrophe that has befallen Lebanon, and making them liable for the damages incurred by the Lebanese people and the costs of reconstruction...." LCCC also seeks to establish an international commission of inquiry "mandated with the task of determining Hezbollah's legal responsibility for the events leading to the cycle of violence inflicted on Lebanon today...."The LCCC also warned all Lebanese against "the deceitful calls aiming at surrendering to the will of the fundamentalist Hezbollah group and the dictates of its financiers and sponsors in Damascus and Tehran.... To remain silent over their crimes or to turn a blind eye to their practices, violations and threats is itself an act of treason to the nation and an unforgivable crime." In addition to the LCCC, the press release was endorsed by eleven Lebanese groups from the USA, Europe and Lebanon itself. The LCCC represents the Canadian Lebanese Human Rights Federation, the Canadian Lebanese Free Patriotic Movement (FPM-Canada), the Phoenician Club of Mississauga (PCOM), the Canadian Phoenician Community Services Club (CPCSC), the Canadian Lebanese Christian Heritage Club (CLCHC), the World Lebanese Cultural Union-Canadian Chapter.

The Lebanese Foundation for Peace (LFP), an international organization of Lebanese Christians, issued a press release last week that called upon Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert "to hit them hard and destroy their terror infrastructure. It is not [only] Israel who is fed up with this situation, but the majority of the silent Lebanese in Lebanon who are fed up with Hezbollah and are powerless to do anything out of fear of terror retaliation." The LFP also said that "thousands of volunteers in the Diaspora" are "willing to bear arms and liberate their homeland from [Islamic] fundamentalism," with the logistical support of Israel. In an interview with Israel National Radio's Tovia Singer, former South Lebanese Army officer, and leader of the Guardians of the Cedars militia, Etienne Sakr ("Abu Arz") called on Israel to press ahead until victory in its offensive against the Hezbollah. He said that, while Lebanon can be rebuilt, Israel must not allow the Islamist elements in the country to survive the war. To do so, he said, would repeat the mistake of the 2000 IDF withdrawal from Southern Lebanon. At the time, speaking before the Knesset, Sakr charged that Israel had "made heroes out of Hezbollah."Another well-known expatriate Lebanese individual calling for Israel to win the war in Lebanon is Brigitte Gabriel, founder of the American Congress for Truth, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating radical Islamic fundamentalism in the West. She compared the current destruction in Lebanon to a painful operation aimed at removing a cancerous growth, which will hopefully release Lebanon from the "hijackers" - Iran and Syria. To that end, Gabriel said, the roots of the Islamist movement in Lebanon must be completely destroyed.

In an interview with Canadian Christianity.com, LCCC head Elias Bejjani, a Maronite Catholic, said that Israel "had no choice but to act, if you understand their situation and point of view." Furthermore, he said, "I'm not sure Israel is targeting civilians. Hezbollah moves from one neighbourhood to another. According to reports we have heard from Christian villages in south Lebanon, Hezbollah come into the villages and fire their rockets; then they run away. And these villages pay the price."

Thank You, Israel
by Brigitte GabrielJuly 17, 2006
For the millions of Christian Lebanese driven out of our homeland, "Thank you, Israel" is the sentiment echoing from around the world. The Lebanese Foundation for Peace, an international group of Lebanese Christians, made the following statement in a press release to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert concerning the latest Israeli attacks against Hezbollah:
We urge you to hit them hard and destroy their terror infrastructure. It is not [only] Israel who is fed up with this situation, but the majority of the silent Lebanese in Lebanon who are fed up with Hezbollah and are powerless to do anything out of fear of terror retaliation.
Their statement continues,
On behalf of thousands of Lebanese, we ask you to open the doors of Tel Aviv's Ben-Gurion Airport to thousands of volunteers in the Diaspora willing to bear arms and liberate their homeland from [Islamic] fundamentalism. We ask you for support, facilitation and logistics in order to win this struggle and achieve together the same objectives: Peace and Security for Lebanon and Israel and our future generations to come.
The once-dominant Lebanese Christians - responsible for giving the world "the Paris of the Middle East", as Lebanon used to be known - were killed, massacred, driven out of their homes and scattered around the world as radical Islam declared its holy war in the 1970s and took hold of the country. They voice an opinion that they, and Israel, have formed through personal experience, which is now belatedly being discovered by the rest of the world.

Read the Papal appeals for establishing of Palestinian state in this political context. Hamas’ popes frighten the Lebanese Christians to death. I wonder, will the Lebanese Christian stay affiliated with the Roman Church after the most recent betrayal of their cause by that church? Spreading anti-Semitism all over the world is still the priority of the Vatican.

Poles for Israel Friday, August 18, 2006

All About Israel

All About Israel

THE HIDDEN ARAB GUILT IN
THE JEWISH HOLOCAUST

In Pest in Russland (Munich, 1922) Rosenberg claimed at the New York Jewish banking house of Loeb, Kuhn & Company had financed the communist revolution in Russia in 1917. Rosenberg drew heavily on the writings of a white Russian anti-communist, General Fyodor Viktorovich Vinberg, whose Berlin Letters (1919) had first advanced the thesis. The communists had been successful because communism was a form of Judaism and had been financed by the Jews. Leon Trotsky (Lev Bronstein) had been the bag man. On his return to Russia from his exile in the United States Trotsky had the funds Lenin needed to bring about the revolution in Russia.
In the book, The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World by Rev. Denis Fahey (1935), two documents are quoted in proof of the fact that the Jews were the real rulers of Russia after the Bolshevik revolution. The first document, quoted on p. 88 is the report forwarded to London by Mr. Oudendyke, the representative of the Netherlands Government at St. Petersburg. Mr. Balfour received the report via Christiania on the 18th September, 1918. It was published as a British White Paper in April, 1919 and was entitled: Russia, No. 1 (1919), A Collection of Reports on Bolshevism in Russia. The kernel of the Paper is contained in the following extract from Mr. Oudendyke’s Report: “Bolshevism.is organized and worked by Jews who have no nationality and whose one object is to destroy for their own ends the existing order of things. The only manner in which this danger can be averted would be collective action on the part of all the Powers.” The foreword to the White Paper stated that it was issued in accordance with a decision of the English War Cabinet in January (1919). It was a British Declaration of War on Jewish people.
The second document, treating of the financing of the Russian Revolution by the Jewish Bank of Kuhn, Loeb and Company, is the one drawn by the American Intelligence Service and transmitted by the French High Commissioner to his government. This document is quoted at length on pp. 88-91 of The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World. It was published by the Documentation Catholique of Paris on 6th March 1920, and was preceded by the following remarks: “The authenticity of this document is guaranteed to us. With regard to the exactness of the information it contain, the American State Department must assume responsibility.” This document was quoted in 1920 in a supplement to the paper La Vieille France (The Old France) which added: “All the governments of the Entente were aware of this memorandum, drawn from the data of the American Intelligence Service and sent at the time to the French High Commissioner and his colleagues.” The American Intelligence Service must be very Catholic, indeed. Otherwise, how can one explain their blindness to what K. Marx and other revolutionaries were saying about the Jews. Charles Fourier, Pierre Proudhon, Michael Bakunin, and Karl Marx took an extreme anti-Jewish stand accusing Jews of initiating capitalism and thus exaggerating out of all proportion the important, though limited, contribution of Jewish traders and industrialists to the growth of industry and commerce. The Rotschild bankers family served as a stereotype to attack all Jews. Marx equated Judaism with the ideology and practice of capitalism and the Jewish spirit with the spirit of capitalism. With the defeat of capitalism, Judaism and Jews would vanish. In different hands, such theories would later light genocidal fires.
René Fülőp-Miller in his book Geist und Gesicht des Bolschewismus (Amalthea-Verlag, Zűrich-Leipzig-Vienna. 1926) saw differently the sources of inspiration for Bolshevik revolution. “Dostoevski,” he wrote, “grasped and developed the identity between the peculiar variety of socialism long cherished and the idea of the Jesuits. Berdaiev has shown in an excellent analysis of Dostoevski’s Weltanschauung, that this writer found in the nihilistic and terrorist socialism of his time an idea which was identical with that at the root of the Catholic inquisition. He regarded the communist state established by force as nothing but the logical consequence and ultimate emanation of medieval Catholicism. Lenin liked to use proverbs and easy images, especially from the Gospels and Krylov’s fables.
In the Legend of the Grand Inquisitor Dostoevski, in Berdayev’s view, had socialism rather than Catholicism in mind: “The rule of the papist theocracy with its dangerous errors belongs wholly to the past. He coming kingdom of the Grand Inquisitor is allied not so much with Catholicism as with atheistic and materialistic socialism.”
The notebooks found among Dostoevski’s papers after his death confirm in every respect the view that the novelist saw a spiritual identity between Jesuitism and the Russian socialism of the time, the archetype of the Bolshevism of today. In both schools he saw the same “Spirit of liberation by despotism, and of making mankind happy by force.”
“To whom the end is permitted,” says the Jesuit Hermann Busembaum (1653) “to him is the means also permitted.” “In all cases,” writes the Jesuit Etienne Bauny (1653), “man can be ill disposed to his neighbor without sin, if he is moved thereto entirely for a good end.”
Johannes de Dicastilo, in his work De justitie et iure (1641) draws the final conclusion by declaring that, in his judgment “if a father is injurious to the State and the commonweal, and there is no other way of averting this evil, he would permit the son to slay his outlawed father.” The Bolsheviks built up a monument to a boy who betrayed his father who had stolen some food for him when they were starving during the revolutionary period.
The denial of freedom of conscience is also entirely Jesuitical; for Jesuitism worked out a doctrine of “probabilism”, according to which a man may peacefully follow the view of recognized authority without any regard to his own moral judgment. The Jesuitical doctrine is behind the official forgiveness of Hitler’s crimes in Solidarity’s Poland. The agreement between the morality of the Bolsheviks and that of the Jesuits is also very clearly shown by the fact that the forerunner of the Bolsheviks in Russia were not really a product of Marxism so much as of the confused nihilistic ideas of Bakunin, Nechaev, and others. They, however, repeatedly and quite openly avowed their leanings to Jesuitism. Bakunin, in particular, the real father of Bolshevism, the spiritual pioneer of this Jesuitical socialism, declared: “Poison, the dagger, the rope, and other murderous tools,” may, under certain conditions, “be justified by revolutionary thought.”
The revolutionary, states a Catechism ascribed to Bakunin’s pupil Nechaev, must be a blind tool of the leader, give up his personal interests and feelings and break away all family ties; hate itself must be subordinate to the views and orders of the leader. Here the parallel with the famous sentence from the rules of the Jesuit Order is quite clear and unmistakable; it is state in the Summarium Constitutionum of Ignatius Loyola that every Jesuit must obey his superior, and be guided and led by him, “as if he were a corpse or a staff in the hand of an old man to serve him who holds it wherever and however it seems good to him.” Bolshevism, therefore, is the result of the transference of Jesuit maxims to revolutionary tactics; its spirit is the same as that of the ecclesia militants of Ignatius Loyola. In both we find the principle that the end justifies the means; with the Jesuits the existence and prosperity of the Order and of the Church, with the Bolsheviks, the Soviet regime and the dictatorship of the proletariat is the end to be attained by all means.
Interestingly enough, Walter Schellenberg testified at the Nuremberg Trials that Himmler had the best and richest library on the Jesuit Order, whose literature he perused at night for years. Thus he built up his SS organization according to Jesuit principle. Its basis was the constitution and the exercise of Ignatius Loyola. In fact, Himmler was called “The Black Jesuit” by his enemies and compared with the Order’s founder, by Hitler, who was pleased to have his fanatical devotion. The essential principle, which Himmler borrowed from the Jesuits, was the oath of absolute blind obedience. (Kadavergehorsam).

The Vatican, the Arabs and the Holocaust
On 14 July 1938 the Italian Fascist university professors made public a long “Dichiarazione della Razza” in which they extolled a pure “Italian (Aryan) race” and made a sharp distinction between the Mediterraneans of Europe (Occidentals), on the one hand, and the Orientals and Africans on the others. They stressed that Jews did not belong to the Italian race. Arguing that “the purely European physical and psychological characteristics of Italians must not be altered in any way”, they foreshadowed the Nazi Holocaust of the Jews. This racist manifesto was supposed to justify the colonial conquest of Ethiopia and “carving out Latin kingdoms in Palestine” (like The British Palestine Mandate).” In the same year, Father Denis Fahey, professor of philosophy (like K. Wojtyla) published the booklet entitled “The Rulers of Russia” that received imprimatur of Jeremias, Episcopus Waterfordensis and Lismorensis. And here is the most revealing paragraph of this booklet: “A step to be taken to undo the naturalism of the French Revolution and, at the same time, prevent onslaughts on the Jews, is to withdraw citizenship of other states from all of them and limit them to citizenship of one state, their own. That state must not be Palestine…” Soon thereafter the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin moved to Italy, where he formed a friendship with B. Mussolini. Mussolini responded to his pleas by declaring, “If the Jews want a state, they should establish Tel Aviv in America” (Cp. the transfer of Israel to Europe postulated by President of Iran).

The New York Times reported on June 14, 1936 that al-Husseini had succeeded “in convincing experienced high British civil servants that he is working for the government’s interests (and that) it was in the interest of the government that he should also be president of the new Arab High Committee,” so that Haj Amin el-Husseini enjoys the government’s complete confidence as its unofficial adviser on the Arab side of the situation…The government believes that he and only he is in a position to appease the Moslem masses, therefore it gives him every support while at the same time playing into his hands.”
The UK was not the only power helping the Mufti in 1936. The USSR-sponsored Communist Party of Palestine also did its part. After the 1929 massacres (including the slaughter of 68 Jews in Hebron), the Communist Party issued a statement that “revolutionary movement without pogroms is impossible.” The Communists even considered the Mufti “too moderate” in his fight against Jews.
In the run-up to the 1936-39 riots, the Palestinian leader began coordinating the organization of anti-Jewish violence. In November 1935, helping the Mufti’s propaganda campaign to spark Arab rage against the Jews. On the eve of the first riots, Communists met al-Husseini to work out the final terms of their roles in the upcoming violence. Communist Party member Nimr Uda became the intelligence chief for the Mufti’s military units. Another Communist representative, Fuad Nasir, was named deputy to Abdul Qadir Husseini, commander of Arab fighters in the southern West Bank
By 1937, Britain realized the Mufti was sponsoring the violence not just against Jews, but against the English as well. Al-Husseini fled Jerusalem and settled in Lebanon. Meanwhile, in an attempt to please the Arabs, the UK’s Peel Commission violated the League of Nations Mandate by offering a proposal to divide the land designated as the “Jewish National Home” by the League of Nations Mandate of 1922. Instead, under the Peel Commission proposal of 1937, only a small part of the land would become the Jewish state.
A year later, the Peel Commission issued another proposal, with even less land offered to Jews. Some time after that, the British issued the White Paper of 1939 rejecting the idea of a Jewish National Home and severely restricting Jewish immigration. It was hoped for in London that such concessions to Arab nationalists would appease al-Husseini and his supporters. Yet, only two years after the White Paper, the Mufti would come back to strike the British again.

Hitler allied himself with the USSR under the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact of 1939 which divided Eastern Europe by giving the Baltic states and parts of Poland and Romania to the USSR, while letting the Germans take over western Poland, Romania and European nations.
The one region where the British still had significant influence was the Middle East. Hitler set out to change that. Al-Husseini wanted to get rid of the Hashemite-clan rulers in Iraq and Transjordan. Both men wanted to get rid of the Jews and the Brits. It was a marriage made in heaven.
Despite boasting a powerful navy, the United Kingdom had an army that was modest in size and spread too thin. The Middle East, especially Iraq, seemed likely to be next pawn to the fall of the Third Reich.
In 1940, King Ghazi (son of King Faisal I) died, laving only his four-year-old son to govern. Emir Abdullah, the regent for the young Iraqi king, felt the need to bring Rashid Ali al-Kaylani into the government as the prime minister, despite the latter’s support for Nazi Germany and links with al- Husseini. The new head of state immediately shifted the policies of Iraq in favor of Nazi Germany, guaranteeing supply of natural resources to Hitler and refusing to cut ties with Italy. Te former Mufti of Jerusalem and his surrogates frequently acted as the government’s representatives with foreigners. Kaylani also asked from Hitler the right to “deal with Jews” in Arab states – a request that was granted.
Britain responded with severe economic sanctions, which, coupled with the UK’s initial defeat of German forces in North Africa and pressure from Iraqi royal family, brought down the pro-German government on January 31, 1941. Kaylani and other pro-Axis Iraqis, under the influence of al-Huseini, conspired, unsuccessfully, to murder Abdul-Illah. But thanks to widespread support for Kaylani among government officials, he was back in power two months later.
As one of its first acts, the restored pro-German administration sent its artillery to attack the British air base at Habbaniya, causing the Brits to respond by invading Basra. The hoped-for support from Nazi Germany never came and Kaylani eventually fled to Saudi Arabia.
Haj Amin al-Husseini, who issued a fatwa (Islamic religious ruling) calling on all Muslims to help the pro-Axis government in Iraq, became one of England’s most wanted man. In May 1941, a group of Jewish fighters, set out for Iraq to assassinate the former Mufti on a mission sponsored by the Churchill government. The mission ended prematurely when Raziel was killed by a bomb dropped from a German plane. Aware that his life was in danger, al-Husseini fled to Europe dressed as a woman.
The mufti convinced both Hitler and Mussolini to support him and persuaded the fascist leaders to agree to a secret document. In a letter addressed to Haj Amin and signed by Joachim von Ribbentrop and Count Galeazzo Ciano, the Axis Powers promised to help the Arab countries with “every possible aid in their fight for liberation…as well as to the abolition of the Jewish National Homeland in Palestine. On Jan. 20, 1942, 14 Nazi officials met in a villa on the lakeshore (Wannsee) to plan the carrying out the Final Solution: the extermination of the Jews. In admiration, the Arabs dubbed Hitler “Abu Ali”, the “good fighter”. In May 1942, only a few weeks after he received the confidential document, the mufti and his associates settled in Germany and went to work helping the Nazis. On a radio program Haj Amin called for his Moslem brothers’ help: “Oh, Arabs use and avenge your martyrs. Fight for your independence. I, mufti of Palestine, declare this war a holy war against the British yoke of injustice, indecency and tyranny.” He was no Palestinian; he was blond, blue-eyed Circassian, like Inga Arvad the “perfect Nordic beauty” whom JFK met the same year.

On November 28, 1941 the former Mufti was officially received by Hitler, who agreed to establish a bureau for al-Husseini which was used to spread propaganda on behalf of Nazi Germany, organize spy ring in Europe and the Middle East, and, most importantly, establish Muslim Nazi SS divisions and Wehrmach units in Bosnia, the Balkans, North Africa and Nazi occupied parts of the Soviet Union. After the meeting, the Mufti was also named SS-Gruppen-führer by H. Himmler and referred to as the Führer of the Arab World by Hitler himself. Reciprocating, the Arabs referred to A. Hitler as Abu Ala i.e. good fighter.

The largest Muslim Nazi SS unit was the 13th division known as Hanjar. Husseini also encouraged the creation of smaller, less efficient units, including the Waffen SS divisions known as Skanderbeg (made predominantly of Albanians) and Kama (made up mostly of Yugoslavian Muslims). Thus Hitler’s Mufti organized or encouraged three out of 27 Waffen SS divisions formed before 1945 (eleven other SS divisions were formed in 1945, but most of these were of questionable caliber and accepted soldiers of questionable skill).
According to the Encyclopedia of the Holocaust, al-Husseini “organized in record time” Croatian units that went on to massacre hundreds of thousands of Serbian Orthodox Christians. Jacenovac, the third largest death camp, where more than 200,000 people met their death, was run by Croatian Ante Pavelic with the aid of al-Husseini. In all, at least 800,000 Yugoslavian civilians were murdered by Pavelic’s pro-Axis Ustaschi regime.

Despite the relative inefficiency of the Hanjar division and the total incompetence of the other two divisions, it can still be said that the units established and encouraged by the Führer of the Arab World played a significant role in the genocide. Tens of thousands of Jews outside Yugoslavia also perished when the Mufti argued against trading them for German POWs held by the Allies.
Al-Husseini opened a North African Bureau in Germany with the goal of recruiting 500,000 Arab soldiers from Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. The plan failed when German forces were forced to withdraw from much of North Africa after a successful British operation.
But an Arab Legion was founded, and it fought under the German flag. Arab soldiers had hoped to fight in the Middle East but were instead sent to the Russian front, where they were completely wiped out while fighting in the Causacus region. Some time later, in response to the British decision to create a Jewish Brigade made up of some of the 26,000 Palestinian Jews who fought under the UK’s flag, the Mufti convinced the Germans to create an Arab Brigade. The unit, however, either did not fight or was not very efficient because very little is known about it.
The Mufti also made a particularly strong effort to recruit Soviet Muslims. “It was largely due to Haj Amin’s propaganda that on the arrival of German armies in the northern Caucasus in 1942, five indigene tribes – the Chechens, the Ingushes, the Balkars, the Karachais, and the Kabardines – welcomed them with bread and salt,” wrote Joseph Schechtman in The Mufti and the Führer, Stalin’s response was deadly. Caucasian Muslims, including nearly all Chechens and Ingush, were exiled from their land, with up to a third dying as a result of inhumane treatment by Soviet authorities.
The Mufti was similarly instrumental in the recruitment of the Azerbaijani battalion, which “proved their valor, were included in German Storm Troops and decorated by the German Army,” according to a November 1943 broadcast by DNB, the German News Agency. The Mufti’s representatives in central Asia recruited some Muslim fighters for Nazi Germany there as well, despite widespread sympathy among the majority of Central Asian Muslims for the plight of the Jews during the Holocaust.
The Mufti’s hatred of the West was matched only by his hatred of the Jews. It is not a coincidence that Germany suddenly abandoned the policy of expelling Jews and adopted far harsher methods a short time after the Mufti arrived in Germany. When Haj Amin came to Germany again, the Nazis decided to execute the Final Solution to the Jewish Problem.
“The Mufti was one of the initiators of the systematic extermination of European Jewry,” reported Eichmann’s deputy, Dieter Wislicenny. “He had played a role in the decision to exterminate the European Jews. The importance of this role must not be disregarded…The Mufti was one of the initiators of the systematic extermination of European Jewry.”
We do not know if al-Husseini played a major role in shaping the Final Solution. “There is, however,” wrote Joseph Schechtman, “abundant first-hand evidence of the part the Mufti played in making foolproof the ban on emigration (of Jews out of Germany).”
During WWII the people in the State Department who were most closely associated with the rescue of Jews were Assistant Secretary Breckenridge Long and several middle-level officials. They included George Brandt, Long’s executive assistant, James Dunn and Wallace Murray, departmental advisers on political relations, Ray Atherton, acting chief of the Division of European Affairs, Howard Travers, chief of the Visa Division, and a number of lesser officers, especially R. Borden Reams. These men were indifferent to the tragedy of the European Jews. Randolph Paul of the Treasury Department described them as an American “underground movement…to let the Jews be killed.” That was confirmed by an eighteen-page memorandum on State Department obstruction entitled Report to the Secretary (of Treasury) on the Acquiescence of This Government in the Murder of the Jews. Led by DuBois, the Foreign Funds Control staff prepared this searing indictment, which charged that the State Department was “guilty not only of gross procrastination and willful failure to act, but even of willful attempts to prevent action from being taken to rescue Jews from Hitler.
When the war ended, al-Husseini returned to the Middle East as a hero. On October 1, 1948, he was proclaimed the president of the government of All-Palestine. The government was fictional, however, because it did not control any land and was recognized by only a handful of Arab nations. In 1959, its sponsor, Egypt, dispersed it.
By that time, however, another member of the al-Husseini clan was planning terror. Around the same time that the All-Palestine government was disbanded, a man by the name Muhammad Abd al-Rahman ar-Erauf al-Qudwah al-Hussaini – better known as Yasir Arafat – was busy organizing Fatah, which would go on to become the main faction of the PLO and the minion of both the USA and of Great Britain.
During the post-Farouk era, the Grand Mufti held court at a closely guarded villa on Sharia Assuit Street in Heliopolis, a suburb of Cairo. There he entertained delegations from throughout the Arab world while maintaining close contact with radical nationalists from Germany and other countries. Among those who gathered at the Mufti’s house during the mid-1950s was the distant cousin, Yassir Arafat, then an engineering student at the University of Cairo. Former Major General Otto Ernst Remer, Fűhrer’s chief bodyguard, who would collaborate with Arafat in the years ahead, also visited the esteemed Grossmufti on several occasions. They share fond recollections of A. Hitler and indulged in the usual talk of driving the Jews into the sea.
The Grand Mufti’s network of sympathizers extended far and wide. Otto Skorzeny also collaborated with the Muslim religious leader. According to A.F.X. Baron, a prominent British fascist, Skorzeny was instrumental in funneling more than a million dollars, which the Mufti had raised for anti-Zionist and anti-Jewish propaganda, to various no-Nazi groups around the world.
Several German propaganda experts adopted Arabic names when they emigrated to Egypt. Johann von Leers, one of the Third Reich’s most prolific Jew-baiters, converted to Islam and became Omar Amin. He got a job with the Egyptian Information Ministry, thanks to the good offices of the Grossmufti. With von Leers in charge, Cairo’s anti-Israeli propaganda machine churned out hate literature and inflammatory broadcasts on a regular basis. Assisting von Leers were dozens of European Nazis who welcomed a fresh opportunity to continue their vendetta against the Jews. They had regular access to Radio Cairo, which utilized a powerful CIA-constructed transmitter to spread the message throughout much of the Arab world.
The Grossmufti also headed World Muslim Congress and as such he stood by the Third Reich until his death in 1974. A few years later, the WMC, then headed by Pakistani Dr. Inamullah Kahn, mailed Holocaust-denial literature to every member of the U.S. Congress and the British Parliament. The WMC’s official mouthpiece, Muslim World, carried ads for The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Henry Ford’s The International Jew. Dr. Kahn’s congress also published Freemasonry, a book warning that Jews were using lodge members to extend secret control over religion and society. Dr. Kahn also served as an advisor to the Saudi Arabian royal family, which lavished funds on the WMC. In addition, the Saudi Arabian government retained the services of American neo-Nazi William Grimstead as a Washington lobbyist.
Hilfskorp Arabien (Auxiliary Corps Arabia) had been advertised in Gerhard Frey’s Deutsche National-Zeitung in 1968. Two years later, West German police arrested Udo Albrecht, founder and leader of the Freikorps Adolf Hitler, who was found carrying an identification card linking him to El Fatah, the largest PLO faction, led by Yassir Arafat. Albrecht and twelve other German neo-Nazi militants had fought alongside the Palestinians against Jordan’s King Hussein during the battle of Black September.
Remaining true to the Nazi creed, Remer sneered at his erstwhile comrades who professed a swift conversion to democracy after the war. Like so many other Nazis, he had been approached by U.S. intelligence in the late 1940s, but Remer rebuffed attempts to woo him. “I said that as long we were an occupied country, I would not help them,” he recounted. Instead, Remer opted to agitate from outside (chiefly from Arab countries), relentlessly attacking the United States and “Adenauer’s American satellite policy” (the young K. Wojtyła shared his contempt for Adenauer’s Christian Democrats which he expressed in his early research) for splitting their beloved country in two. After monitoring a well-attended meeting, a State Department sleuth reported back to Washington: “If nations could bring suit for slander and character assassination, we would have an air-tight case against Remer.”

Leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s main Islamic opposition group, Mohammed Mahdi Akef said on Dec. 22 that the Nazi Holocaust was a myth and slammed Western governments for criticizing disclaimers of Jewish genocide. (amNew York, Dec. 23-26, 2005)

As for Pres. Eisenhower, American Jews had noticed that he rarely spoke about their favorite subjects: Israel and the Holocaust. Eisenhower was not even certain that he – in Truman’s position – would have supported Israel’s birth; but now that it was an accomplished fact, he would have to live with it.
In 1953, Pres. Eisenhower picked up as his Secretary of State John Foster Dulles. Both John and his brother Allen were deeply entangled in the web of financial connections that linked Nazi Germany with the US. Allen Dulles was a former director of the German Schröder Bank owned by Baron von Schröder; Allen’s brother John even sat on IG’s Farben Board before America entered war.
The OSS was set up in 1942. Allen Dulles arrived in Switzerland that November and received diplomatic status at the US embassy in Bern as an assistant to the ambassador. Dulles’s contacts with Nazi Germany in his previous work as a lawyer proved most useful, although once war broke out they could be maintained openly and had to be preserved through clandestine channels; he openly maintained his business with Nazi Germany until hostilities broke out. Unlike many of his operatives, Dulles was not an antifascist with a hatred of Nazism. He had no great love for Jews, was tainted by anti-Semitism and, as a former State Department official in the Middle East Department, had extensive business dealings in the Middle East, particularly in the Arabian Gulf, where he had a network of connections with oil companies.
Dulles had German clients before the war and kept legal relations with them, and once he started work in the OSS he put these German connections to use. He knew German bankers and manufacturers who were politically conservative. He was very ingenious and used third parties such as the intelligence agencies of central European countries, where he also had contacts. Small wonder then, that so many Nazi officers and scientists (W. von Braun among them) found a ready welcome for their skills and research in the offices of the American intelligence services after Germany’s defeat.
Like Schellenberg, his Nazi mirror image, A. Dulles was planning for a postwar Europe. His aim was to build up a continent-wide intelligence network, both as part of his personal empire and as a means of laying the groundwork for the coming Cold War against the Soviet Union.
Truman did not want to recruit even nazi scientists, let alone sanction wholesale smuggling of Eastern European Fascists. Behind the President’s back a small coterie of right wing Americans committed mutiny. James Jesus Angleton told his old friend and informant, Montini, that he and Pius XII had nothing to fear: everyone knew that “Dewey would beat Truman in the 1948 elections. In the meantime, Angleton and his friend Allen Dulles, would take care of everything.
Dulles recruited Casey to oversee the International Rescue Committee which facilitated the illegal emigration of Britain’s Fascists to America during the 1950. Casey was the American end of the Vatican Ratline, and learned how the game was played. In 1980, he became head of the CIA under Reagan.

Pres. Eisenhower’s enmity toward Israel went hand in hand with his interest for the UFO problem. W. Cooper relates what he found in the secret papers: “A third landing at Muroc, now Edwards Air Force Base, took place in 1954. The base was closed for three days and no one was allowed to enter or leave during that time. The historical event had been planned in advance. Details of a treaty had been agreed upon. Eisenhower arranged to be in Palm Springs on vacation. On the appointed day the President was spirited to the base. The excuse was given to the press that he was visiting a dentist. Witnesses to the event have stated that three UFOs flew over the base and then landed (the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind is a fictionalized version of the “event”). Antiaircraft batteries were undergoing live-fire training and the startled personnel actually fired at the crafts as they passed overhead…the shells missed and no one was injured. President Eisenhower met with the aliens on February 20, 1954, and a formal treaty between the alien nation and the United States of America was signed. We then received our first alien ambassador from outer space. He was the hostage that had been left at the first landing in the desert. His name was ‘His Omni-potent Highness Crill or Krill,’ pronounced Crill or Krill. In the American tradition of disdain for royal titles he was secretly called ‘Original Hostage Crill, or Krill.’”
Four others present at the meeting were Franklin Allen of the Hearst Newspapers, Edwin Nourse of Brookings Institute, Gerard Light of metaphysical research fame, and Catholic Bihop (sic!) MacIntyre of Los Angeles. Their reaction was judged as a microcosm of what the public reaction might be. Based on their reaction, it was decided that the public could not be told. Later studies confirmed the decision as sound.” Shortly after this meeting President Eisenhower suffered a heart attack.
Well, priests at the Vatican Observatory do continue their researches in the spirit of that “meeting.” According to Berliner Morgenpost, they have come to conclusion that “earth’s inhabitants are not the only creatures of God in the universe. As explained by George Coyne, director of the observatory, “the universe is simply far too large for us to be alone.” To reach these extraterrestrials with the Gospel, several monasteries have been sending the Syrian New Testament (Peshitto) into space as an encoded message. What the Vatican would like to know, says the newspaper, “is whether Jesus Christ has manifested himself on other planets too.” And, adds Coyne, “Whether Jesus Christ has also saved the inhabitants” of those planets. The basic dogma of the materialist philosophy of the Roman Epicurean Lucretius recognized life not as created by a god but as evolving from dead atoms in infinite universe: “Life does not differ essentially from other matter; it is a product of moving atoms which are individually dead. As the universe took form by the inherent laws of matter, so the earth produced by a purely natural selection all the species and organs of life.”
G. Bruno proclaimed, The earth is not the center of the world, nor is the sun; beyond the world that we see there are others worlds, and beyond these other worlds are other worlds again (expanding universe), and so on endlessly; we cannot conceive an end, nor a beginning. And instead of the “fixed” stars being fixed, as Copernicus thought, they change their place constantly; even in the skies panta rei, all things flow. Space, time, and motion are relative; there is no center, no circumference, no up or down; the same motion differs when seen from different places or stars; and as time is the measure of motion, time too is relative. Probably many stars are inhabited by living, intelligent beings; did Christ die for them too? Yet in this endless immensity there is an invariable conservation of matter, an eternal and inviolable constancy of law. . Bruno was burnt at the stake because he proposed abandoning Christianity and returning to the ancient Egyptian religion.

Further cover-ups ensued after Reagan took up residence in the White House. The reason was very simple: the Fascists were being used in ongoing operations. Nixon era Nazis were back on the payroll again, not as experts on anticommunism but as consultants on antiterrorism. They were working for the Special Operations Division, a covert unit to fight terrorism with terrorism.
Behind the back of the Congress and the CIA, a new international intelligence consortium had been built in 1984. In Jan. 1984, in his annual speech to the Vatican diplomatic corps, which the US ambassador W. Wilson attended the pope promoted an independent Palestinian state, which was already recognized by the East Germany! This Pope is a secret informant like his predecessor Paul VI!
Guns, money, and agents were laundered through British intelligence to continue secret wars in Africa, Nicaragua, and the Middle East. There were whispers that the new operation was being run out of the White House itself. The British American Ratline was back. Congress was conned again with stories that the Israelis invented the Iran-Contra connection in 1985.

A PLO Leader: Oslo Accords Led to Palestinian Violence
The Middle East Media and Research Institute made available portions of a television interview excerpt with Ziyad Abu `Ein, a member of the Fatah leadership in which he mused on the benefits for Palestinian of the Oslo Accords. The interview took place on Al-`Alam Television on July 4, 2006:
The Oslo Accords were not what the Palestinian people dreamt of. The dream of the Palestinian people is the return, self-determination, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, and the liberation of its land.
However, there would have been no resistance in Palestine if not for Oslo. It was Oslo that strongly embraced the Palestinian resistance. All the occupied territories – and I was one of the activists in the first and second Intifadas, and I was arrested by Israel several times ... If not for Oslo, there would have been no resistance. Throughout the occupied territories, we could not move a single pistol from one place to another. If not for Oslo, the weapons we got through Oslo, and if not for the "A" areas of the Palestinian Authority, if not for the training, the camps, the protection provided by Oslo, and if not for the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners through Oslo – this Palestinian resistance could not have carried out this great Palestinian Intifada, with which we confronted the Israeli occupation.
It was P. Buchanan who reportedly scripted Pres. Reagan’s chilling remarks about how SS soldiers buried at Bitburg “were victims, just as surely as the victims in the concentration camps.” Buchanan described Hitler as “an individual of great courage, a soldier’s soldier,” and referred to Holocaust survivors’ memories as “group fantasies of martyrdom.” Such missives made him a favorite among readers of the Spotlight and the IHR journal. The negationists had occasion to gloat when a nationwide Holocaust history program for schools was denied federal funding during the Reagan administration. The Department of Education rejected the proposed Holocaust curriculum because “the Nazi point of view, however unpopular, was not presented, nor was that of the Ku Klux Klan. Is creationism presented as an alternative point of view in US schools?
From the day, J. Carter took office to the last days of the Reagan administration more than 13 years later, a myriad of both official unofficial contacts with the PLO were approved by the President and his Secretary of State. Many of these encounters were with Arafat himself and took place at PLO headquarters in Beirut or Tunis, or in Cairo or Baghdad. Carter regarded the Kissinger commitment, not to negotiate with the PLO, as a hindrance on his own freedom to maneuver. He was prepared to allow Arafat to include in his acceptance of 242 the PLO’s complaint that the resolution failed to recognize the Palestinians’ national rights. The PLO opposed the 1978 Camp David accords because they had offered West Bank and Gaza Palestinians an “autonomy” that the PLO believed would never allow them to gain their independence or statehood.
In a cover article for *Time magazine, Feb. 24, 1992, C. Bernstein of Watergate dubbed the Vatican audience to Pres. Reagan “The Holy Alliance” – a joint Reagan-John Paul guerilla action (i.e. intifada) run mostly by the White House.
On Sept. 1, 1982, in a nationally televised address, for the first time the US President served notice that he would oppose the annexation of Judea and Samaria. Two weeks later, on Sept. 15, Y. Arafat met at the Vatican with the Pope. It was Francesco Patienza – the Mafia-connected Italian spy and Reagan administration adviser who helped arrange the Arafat meeting. Pazienza was a critical go-between for the Vatican and the PLO; he took several trips to Beirut. Pazienza also had close ties to the Vatican’s UN ambassador.

While Holocaust-denial had always been part of the postwar fascist scene, it was not until the funding of the California-based Institute for Historical Review (IHR) in 1978 (When Card. K. Wojtyła was elected Pope John Paul II) that the “assassins of memory,” as French literary historian Pierre Vidal-Naquet has called them, acquired an organizational base that facilitated their international networking efforts. A spin-off of Willis Carto’s Liberty Lobby, the IHR published the Journal of Historical Review, which tried to impress its readers with footnotes and other scholarly trappings.
IHR activities were vigorously promoted in the Liberty Lobby’s weekly newspaper, the Spotlight, whose circulation exceeded three hundred thousand in 1981. In the weird world of the Spotlight, history is turned upside down. The exploits of the Waffen SS are glorified and convicted Nazi war criminals, such as General Leon Degrelle, are described as war heroes. In 1979, the Spotlight, reported that Degrelle had written An Open Letter to the Pope Concerning Auschwitz, in which he beseeched newly anointed John Paul II not to lend credence to the “myth” of the gas chambers.

In an article entitled Laundering Memory the Polish weekly Wprost (Feb. 6, 2005) observed: “Post-antisemitism manifests itself in naming every larger atrocity a ‘holocaust.’ Relativization of the Jewish Holocaust makes it possible that people don’t feel obliged to draw conclusions from the horrifying lesson of Auschwitz.”

“Germany Is Starving on Democracy!”- Adolf Hitler
On February 3, 2002 Y. Arafat had published the following Op-Ed article in The New York Times:

For the past 16 months, Israelis and Palestinians have been locked in a catastrophic cycle of violence, a cycle which only promises more bloodshed and fear. The cycle has led many to conclude that peace is impossible, a myth borne out of ignorance of the Palestinian position. Now is the time for the Palestinians to state clearly, and for the world to hear clearly, the Palestinian vision.
But first, let me be very clear. I condemn the attacks carried out by terrorist groups against Israeli civilians. These groups do not represent the Palestinian people or their legitimate aspirations for freedom. They are terrorist organizations, and I am determined to put end to their activities
The Palestinian vision of peace is an independent and viable Palestinian state on the territories occupied by Israel in 1967, living as an equal neighbor alongside Israel with peace and security for both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. In 1988, the Palestine National Council adopted a historic resolution calling for the implementation of applicable United Nations resolutions, particularly, Resolutions 242 and 338. The Palestinians recognized Israel’s right to exist on 78 percent of historical Palestine with the understanding that we would be allowed to live in freedom on the remaining 22 percent, which has been under Israeli occupation since 1967. Our commitment to that two-state solution remains unchanged, but unfortunately, also remains unreciprocated.
We seek true independence and full sovereignty: the right to control our own airspace, water resources and borders; to develop our own economy, to have normal commercial relations with our neighbors, and to travel freely. In short, we seek only what the free world now enjoys and only what Israel insists on for itself: the right to control our own destiny and to take our place among free nations.
In addition, we seek a fair and just solution to the plight of Palestinian refugees who for 54 years have not been permitted to return to their homes. We understand Israel’s demographic concerns and understand that the right of return of Palestinian refugees, a right guaranteed under international law and United Nations Resolution 194, must be implemented in a way that takes into account such concerns. However, just as we Palestinians must be realistic with respect to Israel’s demographic desires, Israelis too must be realistic in understanding that there can be no solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict if the legitimate rights of these innocent civilians continue to be ignored. Left unresolved, the refugee issue has the potential to undermine any permanent peace agreement between Palestinians and Israelis. How is a Palestinian refugee to understand that his or her right of return will not be honored but those of Kosovar Albanians, Afghans and East Timorese have been?
There are those who claim that I am not a partner in peace. In response, I say Israel’s peace partner is, and always has been, the Palestinian people (Palestine c’est moi!). Peace is not a signed agreement between individuals – it is reconciliation between peoples. Two peoples cannot reconcile when one demands control over the other, when one refuses to treat the other as a partner in peace, when one uses the logic of power rather than the power of logic. Israel has yet to understand that it cannot have peace while denying justice. As long as the occupation of Palestinian lands continues, as long as Palestinians are denied freedom, then the path to the “peace of the brave” that I embarked upon with my late partner Yitzhak Rabin, will be littered with obstacles.
The Palestinian people have been denied their freedom for too long and are the only people in the world still living under foreign occupation. How is it possible that the entire world can tolerate this oppression, discrimination and humiliation? The 1993 Oslo Accord, signed on the White House lawn, promised the Palestinians freedom by May 1999. Instead, since 1993, the Palestinian people have endured a doubling of Israeli settlers, expansion of illegal Israeli settlements on Palestinian land and increased restrictions on freedom of movement. How do I convince my people that Israel is serious about peace while over the past decade Israel intensified the colonization of Palestinian land from which it was ostensibly negotiating a withdrawal?
But no degree of oppression and no level of desperation can ever justify the killing of innocent civilians. I condemn terrorism. I condemn the killing of innocent civilians, whether they are Israeli, American or Palestinian; whether they are killed by Palestinian extremists, Israeli settlers, or by the Israeli government. But the personal attacks on me currently in vogue may be highly effective in giving Israelis an excuse to ignore their own role in creating the current situation. But these attacks do little to move the peace process forward and, in fact, are not designed to. Many believe that Ariel Sharon, Israel’s Prime Minister, given his opposition to every peace treaty Israel has ever signed, is fanning the flames of unrest in an effort to delay indefinitely a return to negotiations. Regrettably, he has done little to prove them wrong. Israeli government practices of settlement construction, home demolitions, political assassinations, closures and shameful silence in the face of Israel settler violence and other daily humiliations are clearly not aimed at calming the situation.
The Palestinians have a vision of peace: it is a peace based on the complete end of the occupation and a return to Israel’s 1967 borders, the sharing of Jerusalem as one open city and as the capital of two states, Palestine and Israel. It is a warm peace between two equals enjoying mutually beneficial economic and social cooperation. Despite the brutal repression of Palestinian over the last four decades, I believe when Israel sees Palestinians as equals, and not as a subjugated people upon whom it can impose its will, such a vision can come true. Indeed it must.
Palestinians are ready to end the conflict. We are ready to sit down now with any Israeli leader, regardless of his history, to negotiate freedom for the Palestinians, a complete end of the occupation, security for Israel and creative solutions to the plight of the refugees while respecting Israel’s demographic concerns. But we will only sit down as equals, not as supplicants; as partners, not as subjects; as seekers of a just and peaceful solution, not as defeated nation grateful for whatever scraps are thrown our way. For despite Israel’s overwhelming military advantage, we possess something even greater: the power of justice.
What strikes most is the fact that the word democracy was not used even once in the above article. Palestine would never be a democratic state.
As the leader of the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS) in Egypt, Arafat was invited to attend a Social International meeting of students in Prague in 1955. To travel there, Arafat and his companions stowed away on a Greek cargo ship AGAMEMNON to Greece. At the same time, the young Karol Wojtyła wrote in Krakow, Poland a two volume Catholic Social Ethics in which he extolled moral superiority of communism over capitalism.
That would explain why pope John Paul II received Y. Arafat in audience fourteen times but refused to receive a representative of Lithuania who wanted to ask pope for his support for independent Lithuanian state.

Czech Republic Rejected Concordat - A Vatican official said the decision by the Czech Republic not to ratify a Vatican treaty was “shocking and full of contradictions.” “The Holy See’s stance is clear and unambiguous – it wanted this accord, signed it and sought to have it implemented,” said Archbishop Erwin Ender, a papal nuncio to the Czech Republic. (The Tablet, Aug 2, 2003)
Czech Prime Minister Milos Zeman, during a visit to Israel, said there was a similarity between Y. Arafat’s Palestinian Authority and A. Hitler’s Third Reich. He also warned against adopting a policy of appeasement, and stressed that there should be no negotiating with terrorists. Zeman made the comments during a TV interview on Channel Two, “I am here to express some gesture of solidarity of one small nation with another small nation which faces the dangers in the fight against worldwide terrorism,” he said. (Shalom, No. 62-63, March-April, 2002)
Let me remind in this context the statement made on December 11, 1948 by the Czechoslovak UN delegate:
“Israel is a reality which has not been seriously challenged by the regrettable and uncompromising attitude of the Arab States. The actual existence of the Jewish state, therefore, must always be taken into consideration. In view of that fact, the Assembly is no longer entitled to make any territorial arrangements of a fundamental character, because that would signify an infringement of the sovereignty of the State of Israel…Such an action on the part of the Assembly would represent a flagrant violation of the Charter, its purposes and principles, and more particularly of Art. 2, par. 7 thereof. No territorial changes or exchanges are therefore permissible unless mutually agreed upon by both parties.
At the same meeting, Vyshinsky spoke against British efforts of “taking from Israel the Negev territory which comprises approximately two thirds of the state of Israel.”

Of the more than 100 countries that have formally endorsed the convention of the special U.N. General Assembly on the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, not one is Arab. In the West, this is viewed as another manifestation of Holocaust denial, and increasingly, commonplace feature of Arab politics. For their part, Arabs would retort that the Holocaust is not their history, so why the fuss?
The answer: they are wrong. The Holocaust, although overwhelmingly a European story, was an Arab story, too. Indeed, the Arab lands of Algeria and Morocco were the site of the first slave labor camps – the term “concentration camps” was used at the time – ever liberated by Allied troops.
From the outset of the war, Nazi plans to persecute and eventually exterminate Jews extended throughout the area that Germany and its allies hoped to conquer. That included a great Arab expanse, from Casablanca to Tripoli and on to Cairo, home to more than a half-million Jews.
Though the Germans and their allies controlled this region only briefly, they made substantial headway toward their goal. In the three years to the final expulsion of German troops from Tunisia in May 1943, the nazis, their Vichy French collaborators and their Italian fascist allies applied in Arab lands many of the precursors to the final Solution. These included not only statutes depriving Jews of property, education, livelihood, residence and free movement, but also torture, slave labor, deportations and executions. There were no “extermination camps,” but thousands still suffered, especially those consigned to the region’s 40 or so labor camps, many solely for Jews.
In all of this, Arabs played a central role. Indeed, Arabs were not too different from Europeans: With war raging around them, most stood by and did nothing; many participated fully willingly in the persecution of Jews; a brave few even helped to save Jews.
Collaborators were everywhere. These included Arab overseers of Jewish work gangs, Arab guards at Jewish labor camps and Arab translators who went house-to-house with SS officers pointing out where Jews lived.
In Tunis, the oldest relative of the only Arab ever to be convicted of a “war crime” was found. The man, Hassen Ferjani, had been hired by a Jewish family to aid in their escape to Allied lines. Instead, he turned the hapless Jews over to the Nazis, who subsequently beheaded them. Mr. Ferjani was eventually convicted by a French military tribunal of conspiracy to murder. The Ferjani family forever viewed Hassen as the real “victim.”
Heroes, though fewer, provide inspiration beyond their numbers. Arab inmates of labor camps shared the suffering of Jews and at times forged an antifascist bond with them. The sultan of Morocco and the Bey of Tunis provided moral support and, at times, practical help to Jewish subjects.
In Vichy-controlled Algiers, mosque preachers gave Friday sermons forbidding believers from serving as conservators of confiscated Jewish property. Not one Arab broke ranks to take up the collaborationist French regime’s lucrative offer.
To many Arabs, discussing the Holocaust is radioactive because they fear it lends justification to Israel and its policies. But even that deep political dispute cannot obscure the fact that Arabs have a relationship with Jews that predates the establishment of Israel, a complex history that provides sources of pride as well as reasons for shame. Accessing that history would bring Arabs into a universal discussion of the Holocaust’s message.
Abu Mazen’s or Mahmoud Abbas’s Holocaust denial challenges the legitimacy of the Jewish State. Scholars at MEMRI say that he does that by showing how the Zionists worked with the Nazis to destroy the Jewish people – because only “Palestine” was the right place for Jews. He claims “The Zionist movement led a broad campaign of incitement against the Jews living under Nazi rule in order to arouse the government’s hatred of them, to fuel vengeance against them, and to expand the mass extermination.” (“Palestine Leader: Number of Jewish victims in the Holocaust Might be ‘Even Less Than a Million…’ Zionist Movement Collaborated with Nazis to ‘Expand the Mass Extermination.” (Washington, D.C.: The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Number 95, May 30, 2002)
Denying the Holocaust is part of a strategy to deny the Jews any connection to the Land of Israel, including the strategy of denying the Bible. Itamar Marcus illustrates the problem:
“Biblical Judaism is really Islam. Biblical Jews are really Arab, and the Land of Israel is really the Arabian Peninsula [Judaism is not a religion on the full sense of the word…] the religion of Moses is a religion, apparently it is the Islamic religion, and some research that was published finds that, when translated correctly, the Torah texts show that it is a continuation of Islam.”
“It is known scientifically as well, that a homeland of all the (Israeli) tribes exists today in Asir (in the Arabian Peninsula). Their history is there.”
“Modern Judaism, the Torah and Bible are forgeries. Jews are falsifiers and the enemies of Allah and Islam. The Torah was brought down while it contained guidance…They (the Jews) faked the words of Allah and changed their religion and laws are wicked…
Professor Arthur Hertzberg, a Jewish leader and historian, says, “The Attack by Holocaust deniers is…the most hurtful that has ever been leveled against Jews. We have long been prepared to defend our religion and our corporate character…but the immediate reaction to the Holocaust deniers is outrage…”

Hungarian Muslims Honor Holocaust
Hungarian Muslim leaders laid wreaths commemorating the Holocaust at a memorial wall at Budapest’s main synagogue. Calling the event “historic”, the head of the Hungarian Islamic community, Zoltan Bolek, said it was the first time “that Hungarian Muslims came in an organized fashion to commemorate the victims who were so mercilessly slaughtered,” the Hungarian Telegraphic Agency reported.

December 17, 2005 Poles for Israel

All About Israel

All About Israel

The Arab Roots of Scientism

The word scientism is often used in a critical manner to imply a dogmatic belief in the rightness of the views of orthodox science and in the infallibility of the scientific method. Many a scientist knows that there is little that he can do without exposing himself to ridicule or worse. The relationship between the individual scientist and ‘Science’ is comparable to that between a bishop and ‘The Church;’ you may easily become a heretic and retire as a peddler. There is no logical reason why the scientists of the 1980s should be any more infallible in their pontifical statements of scientific dogmas than their predecessors of the 1880s, or 1200s for that matter.
Natasha, a 5-year-old black macaque (macaca nigra), became one of the most famous residents of Israel when she suddenly began imitating homo sapiens behavior. Natasha and three other monkeys in the Israeli zoo were treated for a severe stomach illness a few weeks ago. “I was sure that she was going to die,” veterinarian Igal Horowitz said. Instead, after her condition stabilized after treatment, Natasha began walking upright. Monkeys usually alternate between upright movement and walking on all fours. “I’ve never seen or heard of this before,” Horowitz said. “One possible explanation is brain damage from the illness.”
“I know that God is testing us to show us that we are merely animals. Like animals we breathe and die…” But this equality in death doesn’t bespeak equality in life and the Bible went to affirm the unspeakable grandeur of human nature. The animals have no morals! We are much more than “a dressed up chimpanzees”.

He stretched out the north over empty space,
And hangeth the earth over nothing – Book of Job. 26:7-8

Reading the proceeding of numerous symposia, one is struck by the difference in the speeches of European and Arab parties. The Europeans employ cautious language, admiring and flattering Islam. The Arab faction, on the contrary, adopts the tone of a schoolmaster wielding the stick, confident of the tolerance, humanism and greatness of its civilization, the spiritual and scientific fountainhead of Europe. They remind them of the duty to recognize and teach the greatness and superiority of Islamic civilization and Islam at university level. Preachers describe the Islamic origin of Judaism, Christianity and all mankind, born as Muslims in its original purity.
This rejection of the Judeo-Christian heritage, a culture based on the Bible, is upheld by recurrent declarations by European government ministers accrediting the determinant contributions of Arab and Islamic cultures to the development of European civilization. These declarations comply with resolutions passed at the second session of the fourth conference of the Academy of Islamic Research (September 1986) at Cairo’s Al-Azhar; for example, the resolution calling for a historical study “explaining the impact of Muslim civilization and teaching on the movements of political, social, and religious reform in the West, since the European renaissance.” Such affirmations which proclaim the eminent supremacy of Muslim civilization over European civilization are in conformity with the Islamic world view. European ministers think they are helping Muslim immigrants integrate into the Judeo-Christian West by attributing an Islamic origin to Western science and institutions. In fact, Muslim theologians teach that the Qur’an forbids the adoption of infidel ideas and customs.
Prof. Carl Becker in his book The Heavenly City of the 18th century Philosophers demonstrates that the period commonly described as The Age of Reason was, in fact, very far from that; that Voltaire, Hume, Diderot, and Locke were living in a medieval world inspired by the Arab philosophers such as: Al-Farabi, Avicenna, Averroes an others.
In the opinion of Prof. Becker it would have been impossible for the Philosophes to have permitted God the Father to fade away into the thin abstraction of a First Cause unless they were prepared to dispense with his revelation to men – the revelation through Holy Writ and Holy Church. Renunciation of the traditional revelation was the very condition of being truly enlightened; for to be truly enlightened was to see the light in its fullness, and the light in its fullness revealed two very simple and obvious facts. One of these contained the sum of those negations which we understand so well – the fact that the supposed revelation of God’s purposes through Holy Writ and Holy Church was a fraud, or at best an illusion born of ignorance, perpetrated, or at least maintained, by the priests in order to accentuate the fears of mankind, and so hold it in subjection. The other fact contained the sum of those affirmations which we understand less easily – that God had revealed his purpose to men in a far more simple and natural, a far less mysterious and recondite way, through his works. The be enlightened was to understand this double truth, that it was not in Holy Writ, but in the great book of nature, open for all mankind to read, that the laws of God had been recorded. This is the new revelation, and thus at least we enter the secret door to knowledge.

Abu’l-Walid Ibn Rushd, better known as Averroes (1126-1198), stands out as a towering figure in the history of Arab-Islamic though, as well as that of West-European philosophy and theology. A common theme throughout his writings is that there is no incompability between religion and philosophy when both are properly understood.
In the Western world, he was recognized, as early as the thirteenth century, as the Commentator of Aristotle, contributing thereby to the rediscovery of the Master, after centuries of near-total oblivion in Western Europe. That discovery was instrumental in launching Latin Scholasticism and, in due course, the European Renaissance of the 15th century.
In Islamic culture ‘philosophy’ was somewhat suspect. It never gained a foothold in publicly supported educational institutions; it was never well connected with any profession. The subject best established in medieval Islamic education was the study of the religious law.
But in the teaching of Al-Farabi (ca. 870-950 A.D.) since philosophy aims at the perfection of mankind, it should seek political power. It follows, the, that the idea of Imam, Philosopher and Legislator is a single idea.’ The implication is that Muhammad is not God’s prophet but the Platonic philosopher-king spreading “royal lie” to keep his subjects in total control. Because, as Al-Farabi confessed, the philosophers are superior to those who are merely religious. Pope John Paul II, a philosopher by training, early made clear that he wished to impart to the Catholic body a deep and original philosophic stamp.

According to Avicenna (980-1037 A.D.) religious knowledge does not include everything that philosophers should know. In other words the writings of philosophers offered deeper insights into the mysteries of the world than the revealed word of God.
In The Decisive Treatise Determining the Nature of the Connection between Religion and Philosophy Averroes tries to show that philosophy is a legitimate study for Muslims – indeed, that it is the highest form of religion. Like Al-Farabi, and like Plato, Averroes envisages a state in which philosophers are the elite. “For the natures of men are on different levels.” This was also the view of Al-Farabi and Avicenna, who also inferred that philosophy was for the elite and religion for the masses, like opium.
Averroes professed the greatest esteem for Aristotle. The word of Stagirite was for him the highest expression of truth in matters of science and philosophy. In this exaggerated veneration for the philosopher he went farther than any of the Schoolmen. Indeed, in the later stages of Scholastic philosophy it was the Averroists and not the followers of Aquinas and Scotus who, when accused of subservience to the authority of a master, gloried in the title of “Aristotle’s monkey.”
Averroes advocated the principle of twofold truth (later embraced by the Renaissance neo-pagans) maintaining that religion has one sphere and philosophy another. Religion he said is for the unlettered multitude, philosophy for the chosen few. Religion teaches by signs and symbols; philosophy presents the truth itself. (That explains why the modern elite of Bolshevik philosophers titled their organ Pravda i.e. The Truth). In the mind, therefore, of the truly enlightened, philosophy supersedes religion. But though the philosopher sees what is true in theology is false in philosophy, he should not on that account condemn religious instructions, because he would thereby deprive the multitude of the only means (opium), which it has of attaining a (symbolic) knowledge of the truth.
In Averroes philosophy, like in that of Aristotle we find the doctrine of the eternity of matter as a positive principle of being; the concept of a multitude of spirits ranged hierarchically between God and matter and mediating between them; the denial of Providence in the commonly accepted sense; the doctrine that each of the heavenly spheres is animated (this teaching inspired Kepler’s vision of planets as “round beasts”); the notion of emanation or extraction, as a substitute for creation (that explains the panic of multitudes of evolutionists when they hear about creationism); and, finally, the glorification or mystical knowledge as the ultimate aspiration of the human soul. No wonder that Soviet Union and its satellites issued stamps bearing portraits of the Arab “encyclopedists” thus preparing the prospective, final solution of the of the Jewish problem in 1967.

The Heliocentric astronomy of Copernicus did not succeed the geocentered astronomy of Ptolemy because Copernicus’s system corresponded to experience and Ptolemy’s didn’t. With sufficient epicycles Ptolemy’s system could be made to correspond to our observations. The Copernican heliocentrism had won for political reasons. The fight against the religious heritage of the Hebrew Bible was what united the Roman Catholics and the Muslims. Very early we observe the growing alienation of the Roman Church from the Old Testament and Hebrew roots because of the Hellenization and universalization of the Christian message. On the other side, for the millions of Muslims Abraham was neither Jew nor Christian, but the first Muslim. He was believed to have founded the Kaba in Mecca as the central sanctuary of the one God, and in this way he became the ancestor of the Arabs. On this political premise, the 12th-century Arab philosopher Averroes based his criticism of the Ptolemaic system and of the Biblical geocentrism for that matter: “Therefore new research work is necessary in order to find the “true” astronomy, which can be derived from the true principles of physics. As a matter of fact, today there is no astronomy at all, and what we call astronomy is in agreement with our computations but not with the physical reality.” Popular myth saw Averroes as a vile atheist. Thomas Aquinas’s judgment of the Ptolemaic system sounds as a paraphrase of Averroes’s criticism: “The assumptions made by the astronomers are not necessarily true. Although these hypotheses seem to be in agreement with the observed phenomena we must not claim that they are true. Perhaps one could explain the observed motion of the celestial bodies in a different way which has not been discovered up to this time.”
As an admirer of philosophy, Averroes regretted the position of women in Islam compared with the civic equality in Plato’s Republic. That women were used only for childbearing and the rearing of offspring was, in his opinion, detrimental to the economy and responsible for the poverty of the state. But consider how T. Campanella developed this idea further in his utopia Civitas Solis: “They say that all private property is acquired and improved for the reason that each one of us by himself has his own home and children. From this self-love springs. The Holy Roman Clement says that wives ought to be common (like in Plato’s Republic) in accordance with the apostolic institution. Incidentally, isn’t the idea of 70 virgins waiting for every Muslim ascending to heavenly paradise a perversion of Platonic sharing of women in his Republic?
Anyway, it is close to debased idea of Cynics who having accepted sexual desire as normal and natural, like hunger, professed themselves unable to understand why men should be ashamed to satisfy the one appetite like the other, in public. In the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas Jesus, when asked “on what day will he be revealed to his disciples,” replies, “when you undress without being ashamed, and you take your clothes and put them under your feet as little children and tramp on them, then you shall see the Son of the Living One, and you shall not fear” (G. Thom. 37). Interestingly, Voltaire who admired Pope Benedict XIV’s “enlightenment” dedicated to Averroes his tragedy Mahomet.
According to the testimony of Laertius, Plutarch, Aristotle, and Galen, Pythagoras first announced to the Gentiles his marvelous doctrine of the motion of the earth, of the sun in the center, and of systems in heaven. He informs them that the moon is another earth, and that the four elements, not to mention water, exist in the stars. Copernicus began to develop his system from the preceding contributions of the Pythagoreans, motivated by the observations of Francesco Maria. The disciple of Pythagoras, Timaeus Locrus, “demonstrated by mathematics” the diurnal rotation of the earth, and Philolaus of Crotona – the annual revolution of the earth (also by mathematics!) Copernicus then added the motion of libration from the pattern of the motion devised by Thebit of Babylon and King Alphonso of Spain. That such a motion was necessary St. Thomas Aquinas also suggested in Metaphysics from statements of Simplicius.

Copernicus’s only motive in his research was his conviction that there was no established doctrine and, not a spirit of opposition against the established doctrine. That explains the facts that he joined to his book the letter he had received from Cardinal Schőnberg some years before and that he dedicated his work to Pope Paul III. Card. Schőnberg urged him to publish his book: “Thus, learned Sir, I hope that I will not be deemed a nuisance when I urgently request you to communicate your discovery to the learned world.” Tiedman Giese, Bishop of Kulm also insisted for a long time on publication. Copernicus’s brother Andreas was a high-ranking curialist… John Paul II knew what he was doing when he “rehabilitated” Galileo who, like Muhammad, believed in “7 hanging paradises” and 70 virgins awaiting him…
Wolfram von Eschenbach, author of Parzifal, A. Hitler’s favorite pastime states that one of his sources, “the heathen Flegetanis,” who left a document in Toledo (famous for his translation school), was an astronomer who was both Jewish, on his father’s side, a heathen (he “worshipped a lamb* as though it was his god”). Flegetanis had seen the Graal, its name spelled out in the stars, and left on earth by ”a troop” that then “rose high above the stars, as if their innocence drew them back again.” When Wolfram has cause to list the planets, he gives their names in Arabic. Indeed, the whole of Parzifal is drenched in Germanicizations of Eastern lore, which, we may surmise, were exactly what his readers wished to be stimulated by – and he makes it plain that the source for such information was Toledo, which indeed it was.
In 1957, two historians met to consider an archaic manuscript written by a 14th-century Arab astronomer. It had been written by a timekeeper of the central Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, a religious man by the name of Ibn al-Shatir. What was remarkable about the timekeeper’s text was that it anticipated some of the ideas of Copernicus more than 100 years before the Polish astronomer was born. And thus a hidden connection between the works of Copernicus and those of medieval Islamic astronomers was discovered.
The Book of the Kuzari, Judah Halevy’s (ca. 1075-1141) only book on philosophy, rages against Atistotelian logic, Christianity, and Islam. Set in a question-and-answer format, the work presents the king of the Khazars in discussion with a Hellenic philosopher and Jewish, Christian, and Muslim representatives, seeking to determine for his people the one true and proper faith. After exposing the spiritual vacuum beneath Greek logic, Halevy acknowledges the debt of Christianity and Islam to Jewish sources while declaring their subsequent history as invalid.

American Caricature of Religion

Aristotle cosmogony, possibly under the influence of the Bible, assumed a spherical planet, and Erasthothenes actually measured the earth’s circumference in the third century B.C. The flat earth myth argues that this knowledge was then lost when ecclesiastical darkness settled over Europe. The Renaissance then rediscovered classical notions of sphericity (Magellan’s expedition, Columbus).
Consider this version of the legend from a book for primary-school children written in 1887, soon after the myth’s invention, only a little different from what I learned in the communist school in Poland.
“But if the world is round, “said Columbus, “it is not hell that lies beyond that stormy sea. Over there must lie the eastern strand of Asia, the Cathay of Marco Polo”…In the hall of the convent there was assembled the i9mposing company – shaved monks in gowns…cardinals in scarlet robes…”You think the earth is round…Are you not aware that the holy fathers of the church have condemned this belief…This theory of yours looks heretical.” (J.B. Russel, Inventing the Flat Earth, Praeger, 1991)

Now I can better understand how, for the Bolsheviks, industrialized America became the Promised Land. At an earlier period, the “intelligentsia” still looked for their models in Europe; but, immediately after the Revolution, a wild enthusiasm for America started; they began to dream about Chicago and to direct their efforts towards making Russia a new and more splendid America.
Sosnovski, the Bolshevist “court writer,” made a suggestion, in the very first years of the Revolution, that Russians should be bred up to be Americans: “It is above all a question,” he wrote, “of seeking and finding new men, men whom we will call ‘Russian Americans,’ and thereafter of helping the Party and the Soviets to put these men in the right place and to take measures to prevent our gaping boobies from silencing them in the first stages for in the natural course of their activities, these ‘Americans’ will learn to defend themselves and get better of the boobies. Our ‘Americans’ must be placed under the protection of the whole people; they must be welded under the protection of the whole people; they must be welded into a cohort of steel and all others must be compelled to regulate themselves by them…In the year 1923, the new self-organizing party of ‘Russian Americans,’ for whom a stay in America is in no way necessary, will declare a war of extinction on all Russian boobies…Alas! I have only a little American blood in my veins; but I feel in my whole being the approach of this new race of men; and I place my pen at their service.” (R. Fuelop-Miller, The Mind and Face of Bolshevism. Harper & Row 1965, p. 22)

Consider the following case. The Russian Noble-Prize winner Pavlov had made himself world-famous by demonstrating that he could condition the behavior of a dog by ringing a bell every time he gave it food. Before very long the dog would drool in anticipation whenever it heard the bell? I think the hungry dogs drool in anticipation whenever they hear their Masters turning keys in the lock of the doors.
Later Pavlov described some mice conditioned to run from one room to another for food whenever the heard a bell. It had taken the first generation of mice three hundred rings before they learned to associate the bell with food. But by breeding those mice among each other, Pavlov had produced a second generation that had learned in only one hundred rings, a next generation that learned in thirty, the next in ten, and the next in five. It was the five-ring stage that Pavlov had reached when he spoke at Woods Hole, claiming a fantastic demonstration of the Lamarckian principle of inheritance of acquired characteristics.
Pavlov also declared that when he got back to Russia he would execute the final step of experiment and arrive at a mouse that had been genetically programmed to respond to the first ring of the bell.
Returning to his own laboratory, American biologist Morgan growled that this extraordinary demonstration could only be attributed to the senility of its designer, a judgment that proved right – nothing more was ever heard from the magical mice that had their genes altered by the ringing of bells.
Pavlov’s dog experiment was a phenotypical one, involving a learned response. All circus animals are conditioned like that. The response could not be handed down to the dog’s descendants because nothing in its genes had been, or could be, touched by the ringing of a bell. Similarly with his mice. Pavlov discreetly buried them.
The fact that Pavlov’s “conditioned reflexes” seem to demonstrate the transition from purely physiological automatism to associations of ideas and primitive forms of thought, was utilized by the Bolsheviks in the most grotesquely exaggerated way in order to represent that all spirituality whatever, even in its highest forms, art and science, is an expression of mere mechanism, as it were the output of a more or less complicated factory. “American mechanization,” was regarded as the loftiest expression of human perfection. This ideal crashed together with the failure of the cold, mechanical human heart, which was supposed to replace the warm-blooded natural heart. “L ‘homme machine” didn’t work out.
But Pavlov had his American admirers too. One of them, the psychologist William McDougall began, in 1920, a series of experiments designed to find out if animals were able to inherit abilities acquired by their parents. He put white rats, one at a time, in a tank of water from which they could escape only by swimming to one of two gangways and climbing up it. One gangway was brightly lit, the other was not. If the rats left by the illuminated gangway, they received an electric shock. McDougall recorded how many trials the rats took to learn always to escape by the other one.
The first generation of rats received an average of over 160 shocks each before learning to avoid the illuminated gangway. But the second generation bred from these experienced parents, learned quicker, and the next generation quicker still. This conclusion was extremely controversial. It flew in the face of the orthodox theory of inheritance, based on Mendelian genetics, which denies that any such thing can happen.
Genetic changes can affect the inheritance of form or instinct by altering the ‘tuning’, or by introducing distortions into the ‘reception.’ But genetic factors cannot by themselves fully account for the inheritance of form and instinct, any more than the particular pictures on the screen of a TV set can be exploited in terms of its wiring diagram alone.
Because the inheritance of acquired characteristics cannot be understood in terms of genetics its very possibility is denied by neo-Darwinists, on theoretical grounds. Thus according to this theory, camels are born with pads on their knees not because of the inheritance of this characteristic as a result of kneeling, but because of random mutations that just happened to give rise to pads in the rights places. The only other source of heredity variation admitted by this orthodox view is the random shuffling of genes produced by the two parents in the process of sexual reproduction. In summary, evolutionary creativity depends on nothing but blind chance, combined with the necessities imposed on organisms by natural selection.
According to genetics of the neo-Darwinists, inheritance can be explained in terms of genes, made up of chemical DNA and strung together in long threadlike chromosomes with the nuclei of cells. Thus DNA controls every aspect of the development of the body. But one puzzle remains; all the cells of the body contain identical copies of the DNA and yet they develop differently. What controls this development? Orthodox science has, as yet, no answer. Besides, the genes in the sex cells are not changed by alterations in other parts of the body that occur in response to the conditions of life.

All major medieval religious scholars accepted the earth’s roundness as an established fact of cosmology. Virtually all-major Christian scholars affirmed our planet’s roundness. Bede referenced to the earth as “orbis in medio totius mundi positus” (an orb placed in the center of the universe, like the author of the Book of Job) in the 8th century.
Russel shows that the great English philosopher of science William Whewell first identified culprits in his History of Inductive Sciences, published in 1837 – two far less significant characters: Lactantius (245-325) and the truly obscure Cosmas Indicopleustes, author of Christian Topography (547-549). Lactantius’s Divinae institutions (Divine precepts) published in Lyons in 1541 include a chapter titled De antipodes, ridiculing the notion of a round earth: “Can there be anyone so inept to believe that men exist whose extremities lie above their heads…that trees can grow downwards, and that rain, and snow , and hail go upwards instead of falling to earth?”
Where, then, and why, did the myth of medieval belief in a flat earth arise? Washington Irving gave the flat-earth story a good boost in his largely fictional history of Columbus, published in 1828. The legend grew during the 19th century. Texts for secondary schools did not mention the flat-earth myth before 1870, but almost all texts after 1880 feature the legend.
Those years also marked the construction of the model of warfare between science and religion as a guiding theme of Western history. It was the Darwinian revolution that directly triggered this influential 19th-century conceptualization of Western history as a war between science and religion. Russel argues that the flat-earth myth achieved its canonical status as a primary homily for the triumph of science under this false dichotomization of Western history. How could a better story for the army of science ever be concocted? Religious darkness destroys Greek knowledge and weaves us into a web of fears, based on dogma an opposed to both rationality and experience.

John William Draper in his History of the Conflict Between Religion and Science (1874) descended into virulent anti-Biblicism and a near proclamation of war:
“Will modern civilization submit to the dictation of power…which kept Europe in a stagnant condition for many centuries, ferociously suppressing by the stake and the sword every attempt at progress; a power that is founded in a cloud of mysteries; that sets itself above reason and common sense; that loudly proclaims the hatred it entertains against liberty of thought and freedom in civil institutions. Then has it in truth come to this, that Roman Christianity and Science are recognized by their respective adherents as being absolutely incompatible; they cannot coexist together.”
Draper extolled the flat-earth myth as a primary example of religion’s constraint and science’s progressive power:
“The circular visible horizon and its dip at sea, the gradual appearance and disappearance of ships in the offing, cannot fail to incline intelligent sailors to a belief in the globular figure of the earth. The writings of the Mohammedan astronomers and philosophers had given currency to that doctrine throughout Western Europe, but, as might be expected, it was received with disfavor by theologians…Traditions and policy forbade to admit any other than flat figure of the earth, as revealed in the Scripture.”

In Russel’s opinion The History of the Conflict fixed in the educated mind the idea that “science” stood for freedom and progress against the superstition and repression of “religion”. Its viewpoint became conventional wisdom.
Draper’s book was a derivation of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between the US and Tripoli of 1796. Having learned from that Treaty that the US government is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion
Draper raps himself even more fully in a Darwinian mantle. The end of his preface designates five great episodes in the history of science’s battle with religion: the debasement of classical knowledge and the descent of the Dark Ages; the flowering of science under early Islam; the battle of Galileo with the Catholic Church; the Reformation (a plus for an anti-Catholic like Draper) and the struggle for Darwinism.

Demise of Another Scientific Myth

Scientists view of life can be summed up by the old bumper-sticker slogan “Shit happens”

The world-famous (like Pavlov) Soviet biologist Oparin was only 30 year-old when he presented the first real scientific case against biblical creationism arguing that life could have arisen by natural physical means here on Earth. The essence of Oparin’s argument, later expanded in his 1936 book Origin of Life, was that geological evidence suggests the atmosphere of the early Earth was filled with gases like methane, ammonia, hydrogen, and water vapor – but no oxygen. By pumping energy from lightning, ultraviolet radiation, volcanic heat, and natural radioactivity into such a blend of gases, Oparin reasoned, the chemical components composing all living things could be formed in the sea, ultimately accumulating to a density at which they could link up to form the first primitive living entities.
Let me show you a bigger picture of this problem. Large reservoirs of oil and natural gas are dependent on the existence of certain geological conditions, such as a sedimentary source for the oil, a porous rock to serve as a reservoir, and some kind of confining sediments. The source material is generally organic carbon in fine-grained, carbon-rich sediments. Porous and permeable sedimentary rock such as sandstone provides the reservoir, and diverse geologic structures that result from folding or faulting of sedimentary layers (earthquakes!) can serve as dams to pool the oil. In order for organic material to be transformed into oil, at least one of two conditions must be met. Either the rate of accumulation must be so high or the oxygen in the bottom water must be so law that the material is not oxidized before it is buried. Oxidation causes decay, which destroys organic material, therefore, areas where there are high rates of accumulation of sediments rich in organic material are the most favorable sites for the formation of oil-bearing rock.
Let’s now go to Stanley Miller and the Chemistry Department at the University of Chicago in the early 1950s.
At the time, Miller was a young graduate student (like Darwin was when he started undermining biblical creationism) in the department shopping around for a Ph.D. thesis topic. Initially he decided to do a theoretical project with Edward Teller, something involving the manner in which chemical elements could be synthesized in stars. However, Teller’s departure shortly thereafter to set up what is now the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory put an end to Miller’s plan, sending him scurrying about for an alternate topic, as well as a new adviser. At this point “fate” (or chance) intervened in the form of another faculty member Harold Urey.
Following Teller’s departure for California, Miller told Urey that he wanted to do experiment on organic synthesis in a reducing atmosphere (i.e. without oxygen like that of Oparin) for his thesis topic. Urey was initially against the idea, primarily because he saw it as a speculative project that could chew up lots of time and energy with no visible output – just the sort of project that a graduate student intent on getting a degree should steer clear of. However, Miller (encouraged by the CIA?) persisted and finally Urey relented, allowing Miller to begin the experiment in the autumn of 1952. The rest is history.
Publication of the experiment in Science in May 1953 generated considerable attention in the popular press, even resulting in a Gallup poll (!) in which 22% of the respondents did not exclude the possibility of creating life in a test tube. This would be the first democratically created life in the world history! An interesting scientific postscript to Miller’s work is the fact that an earlier experiment aimed at the same goal of creating some of the building blocks of life (like amino acids) had been carried out by Melvin Calvin in Berkeley at the very time that Miller was completing his undergraduate work there. Calvin had used a quite different atmosphere consisting of water vapor and carbon dioxide, with an energy source of alpha radiation obtained from the Berkeley cyclotron. Since Calvin atmosphere was oxidizing rather than reducing, he obtained no organic compounds. A puzzling aspect of this experiment was Calvin’s use of the oxidizing atmosphere, since he explicitly referred to Oparin’s reducing atmosphere in his paper yet didn’t use it in the experiment.. In fact, this observation led to a critique published by Urey that ultimately motivated him to suggest the experiment performed by Miller. A final anomaly surrounding this whole business is that Miller made no mention of Calvin’s work in his historical account of the events leading to his own experiment.. Yet it seems unlikely that he could have been unaware of it, since he had been a student in the very same department at precisely the time when the work was under way. Atheization of the American society was a more important political goal than a decent scientific research. Stanley Miller was a McDougall of the 1950s.
If you reject creationism, like Darwin did, you are bound to accept evolutionary emergence of life out of inanimate matter, not to mention that you have to explain emergence of matter itself in the first place. Now, here is the paradox, evolution of living organisms out of inanimate matter in the conditions prevailing on Earth presently is not possible. Therefore the Darwinists have to speculate about primordial conditions totally different from those surrounding us. The antievolutionary slogan that all living organisms descend only from the living ones is reinforced by the observation that the child in the womb of his mother doesn’t breathe, but that doesn’t mean that he/she doesn’t need oxygen. He/she does and receives it with the blood of his mother. And he/she is alive from the very beginning because the oxygen doesn’t destroy his/her organic material. Have you ever smelled a oxidized egg, which had not been not fertilized by a cock?
Stanley Miller was a 23-year-old graduate student in 1953 when he sought to recreate the origin of life in a laboratory. Almost 40 years after his original experiment, Miller told John Horgan, author of The End of Science that solving the riddle of the origin of life had turned out to be more difficult than he or anyone else had envisioned. He recalled one prediction, made shortly after his experiment, that within 25 years scientists would surely know how life began.
He seemed unimpressed with any of the current proposals on the origin of life, referring to them as “nonsense” or “paper chemistry.” He was so contemptuous of some hypotheses that, when Horgan asked his opinion of them, he merely shook his head, sighed deeply, and snickered – as if ever come by the folly of humanity. Stuart Kaufman’s theory of autocatalysis fell into this category. “Running equations through a computer does not constitute an experiment,” Miller sniffed.
When Miller performed his landmark experiment in 1953, most scientists still shared Darwin’s belief that proteins were the likeliest candidates for self-reproducing molecules, since proteins were thought to be capable of reproducing and organizing themselves. After the discovery that DNA is the basis for genetic transmissions and for protein synthesis, many researchers began to favor nucleic acids over protein as the ur-molecules. But there was a major hitch in this scenario. DNA can make neither proteins nor copies of itself without the help of catalytic proteins called enzymes. This fact turned the origin of life into a classic chicken-or-egg problem: which came first, proteins or DNA. And we already know that the “chicken-or-egg problem” is a simplification because the right formula would be hen-cock-or-eggs problem. The same problem is with the Descent of Man.; Darwin should have entitled his book Descent of Man and Woman. But the explanation of a male and a female evolving at the same time from two apes would probably have met with total unbelief.
So the scientists had to find a self-replicating molecule that could act as its own catalyst. In early 1980s researchers identified just such a molecule: RNA, a single stranded molecule that serves as DNA’s helpmate in manufacturing proteins. RNA could serve as both gene and catalysts, hen-cock-and eggs.
But the so-called RNA-world hypothesis suffers from several problems. RNA and its components are difficult to synthesize under the best of circumstances, in a laboratory, let alone under plausible prebiotic conditions. Once RNA is synthesized, it can make new copies of itself only with a great deal of chemical coaxing from the scientists. The origin of life “has to happen under easy conditions, not ones that are very special, Miller said
Lynn Margulies doubts whether investigations of the origin of life will yield the kind of simple self-validating answer of which Miller dreams. Life, she pointed out, emerged under complex environmental conditions. “You have day and night, winter and summer, changes in temperature, changes in dryness. These things are historical accumulations. So, she thinks there is ever going to be a packaged recipe for life; add water and mix and get life (Imagine how cheap life would become after such recipe has been invented!). It is not a single-step process. It’s cumulative process that involves a lot of changes. The smallest bacterium, she noted, is so much more like people than Miller’s mixtures of chemicals, because it already has these system properties. So to go from a bacterium to people is less of a step than to go from a mixture of amino acids to that bacterium. Given our lack of knowledge about the conditions under which life began, any theory of life’s origin based on such a finding would always be subject to doubts.

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore choose life that you may live, you and your children. (Deuteronomy/Devarim 30:19)

* Similarly, Spinoza worshipped Substance as his god. Now they worship Big-Bang.

All About Israel

All About Israel

From Poland with Hope
Roman Pytel, Ph.D.
192 Huron Street, Apt. The Biblical Secretaries of God knew about the relativity of the sunlight and therefore could not accept the heliocentric sun as the Light of the World and a Visible God. My article “At the Sources of the Copernican Heliocentrism” was printed in the “Urania” 1/1981/LII, monthly of the Polish Association of the Friends of Astronomy.

Constantine seemed to see no conflict between Christianity and the predominant Roman sun-centered worship. So, he instituted the celebration of Christ’s birthday on Dec. 25, the feast of the birth of the sun god. Copernicus’s sun god seated on the royal throne ruling the family of stars meant the restoration of Sol Invictus to his rights over Christ.
Constantine considered the sun to be “Light of the world” according to the reception abilities of human eyes. This shortcoming of the empirical method is exposed when one turns to the Bible. In the Biblical account the light was created before the sun (Gen 1:3 and 1:16). What is darkness for human eye is light for a galago, a small African animal that is active at night. Some plants open their flowers only in nights. So you better switch to the Bible to find out how manifold are the works of God.

Girolamo Cardano (1501-76)

By the mid century he became famous throughout Europe as a physician, mathematician, humanist and astrologer. In 1552 he visited England where he cast the horoscope of the invalid boy-king, Edward VI. He predicted a long, albeit disease-ridden life for the young king, who died a year later. On his return to Italy, he obtained a Chair at the University of Bologna, but in 1570 was imprisoned on a charge of heresy – his offence was to have cast the horoscope of Jesus Christ. Cardano was in fact released but the scandal was such that he had to leave Bologna. He went to live in Rome where the Pope granted him a life pension to secure his services as Astrologer to the Papal Court. He was a firm believer in the occult and in “natural magic” and wrote many volumes on palmistry, dreams, ghosts, portents, angels and demons. (S. Hollingdale, Makers of Mathematics. 1994, p. 111.

The most famous Queen of all witches of the British Empire Sybil Leek in her memoirs entitled My Life in Astrology described how credulous the modern luminaries of the space are: “Florida proved to be the means of adding yet another group of people to my astrological portfolio. I live some twenty miles from the famous Cape Kennedy, home of the US space program…Through the help of my old friend, Ann Fague, formerly of Connecticut but now working as social aide in the protocol office of General David Jones at Patrick Air Force Base, I began to meet many people working on the space program. Scientists, engineers, astronauts, and their families, all seemed to trek to the house on the river, and I was amazed at how interested everyone was in my kind of scientific astrology (In case you don’t know, scientific astrology is a bastard sister of Science). Then I was invited to give a talk about astrology at one of the monthly luncheons, and I understand I broke a record for attendance. More amazing still were the questions from the enthusiastic audience. Not that everyone was pro-astrology, but to a lecturer, an avid interest is much more satisfying than a mutual admiration society. Many ladies came to me afterward, saying they had questions to ask not for themselves, but about their families. After this talk, there was a never-ending stream of inquiries about astrology, many of them from men at the Cape whose names later became household words in the space program. Practically all the top brass at their base also had their horoscopes done, and many predictions on world events were solemnly taken to the base to be locked in one of the many safes where they could be checked at appropriate times…Reading any of the magazines and papers, the astronauts emerge either as rare, godlike creatures unable to relate to the rest of mankind, or as cardboard characters with little depths or dimension to them as people.”

THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON LANDINGS

The idea that we went to the moon – and that we were successful in our Apollo endeavors – is so firmly embedded in the cultural lives of most people on this planet, that to voice the opinion that this might be untrue smacks of paranoia and to present evidence for these doubts smacks of heresy. If this opinion is correct, then the majority of us have been conned; that, we’ve been taken for a ride that has lasted 38 years. A ride that’s been generating its own momentum and most of us are still on it!
Throughout aviation history and space exploration, the prime and lasting record of our achievements has been preserved as photographic images, movie film and in recent times, television coverage. We are in no doubt that these records reflect the actual events as they occurred, disasters and triumphs included. Particularly in the exploration of space – and going to the Moon is a perfect example in which there are no independent witnesses to the actual events – we have the right to expect the record to be genuine, honestly portrayed, and responsibly reported.
In actual fact, mankind has no proof at all that we ever set foot on the Moon, other than the photograph that NASA has elected to publish. In this article, David Percy, an award winning film and TV producer, ‘focuses’ on some of these images (See http://www. forteantimes.com/articles/094_moon.shtml), formulating the kind of brief that might have been given to the first lunar surface photographers to produce such questionable images. While such matters as the alleged Moon rocks are important, if the Apollo photos are faked, then they and everything else will find its own place in this NASA jigsaw.

“Control of Space”, Pres. L. Johnson argued in his address to the Democratic Caucus in 1958, “means control of the world…From space the masters of infinity would have the power to control the earth’s weather, to cause drought and flood, to change the tides and raise the levels of the sea, to divert the gulf stream and change temperate climate to frigid… There is something more important than the ultimate weapon. That is the ultimate position – the position of total control over earth that lies somewhere in outer space… and if there is this ultimate position, then our national goal and the goal of all free men must be to win and hold that position.”
On Wednesday morning, July 16, 1969 when a silvery, 363-foot- tall Saturn 5 rocket stood poised on Launch Pad 39A of Florida’s John F. Kennedy Space Center Pres. L. Johnson was not happy or triumphant at all. That’s how he described these moments in his Memoirs: “I remember that moment. My trousers stuck like cement to the back of my legs, the seat from my hair kept dripping down my neck, and my stomach was upset. I knew right then I shouldn’t have come. I didn’t want to go in the first place, but I just didn’t feel rights saying no to the President’s invitation. But it was worse than I thought it would be. I hated being these. I hated people taking pictures of me when I felt so miserable. And I hated shaking hands with all those people, pretending I remembered who they were when I’d never seen them before in my life. I hated their questions: What do you think of this? How do you feel about that? Each conversation was like a goddamn quiz. I hated every minute of it. All I kept thinking was how much I wanted to be home, walking through my fields, and looking after my cattle.” Strange feelings for the man who a few years earlier expressed his conviction that “control of space” would give America “control of the world.”

Thomas Mallon ended his article Moon Walker (The New Yorker, Oct. 3, 2005) with these biting remarks: “Anyone who long ago displaced a portion of his spiritual yearning into Armstrong’s voyage known today that the journey came to nothing, or at least to nowhere. Even so, even now, one remains grateful to have lived through the false dawn.” (p. 98)
On the Russian side, Feoktistov, the engineer-cosmonaut (73) regards the long-running Olympics of manned space-flights as a laughable folly: “When I speak of the stupidity of the Soviet program, the same applies to the American program. These decisions were not made by scientists. They were made by politicians. And for what? The Americans wasted $25 billion for prestige. For $25 billion, they might have done something more interesting. They brought back a few hundred kilograms of rocks…” (NYT Magazine, June 27, 1999)
Indeed, every day G’ sends to the earth tons of meteors, meteorites for free!

John Paul II’s admission of Church error in the Galileo case – finally released in October 1992, after 13 years’ study – was very revealing; Galileo, knowing his findings needed to be integrated into “the culture of the time,” (sic!) could have presented them with less assuredness, as a mere hypothesis, the pope said. In the end, he declared “Galileo, a sincere believer, showed himself to be more perceptive…than the theologians who opposed him.” The Pope did not explain why a sincere believer, like Galileo should present his belief as a mere hypothesis. Does the Church present Jesus’ resurrection as a hypothesis? When the Pope assured the learned world that Galileo was a sincere believer he assumed that the scientists did not read the book entitled Galileo Heretic by the Italian historian of science Pietro Redondi (Princeton U. Press. 1987) who argued that the defender of heliocentrism undermined the entire Catholic dogma of transubstantiation.

Heliocentric astronomy of Copernicus did not succeed the geocentered astronomy of Ptolemy because Copernicus’s system corresponded to experience and Ptolemy’s didn’t. He was believed to have founded the Kaaba in Mecca as the central sanctuary of the one God, and in this way he became the ancestor of the Arabs. On this political premise, the 12th-century Arab philosopher Averroës based his criticism of the Ptolemaic system and of the Biblical geocentrism for that matter: “Therefore new research work is necessary in order to find the “true” astronomy, which can be derived from the true principles of physics. As a matter of fact, today there is no astronomy at all, and what we call astronomy is in agreement with our computations but not with the physical reality.” Popular myth saw Averroës as a vile atheist.

Thomas Aquinas’s judgment of the Ptolemaic system sounds as a paraphrase of Averroës’s criticism: “The assumptions made by the astronomers are not necessarily true. Although these hypotheses seem to be in agreement with the observed phenomena we must not claim that they are true. Perhaps one could explain the observed motion of the celestial bodies in a different way which has not been discovered up to this time.” Copernicus’s only motive in his research was his conviction that there was no established doctrine and, not a spirit of opposition against the established doctrine. That explains the fact that he joined to his book the letter he had received from Cardinal Schőnberg some years before and that he dedicated his work to Pope Paul III. Card. Schőnberg urged him to publish his book: “Thus, learned Sir, I hope that I will not be deemed a nuisance when I urgently request you to communicate your discovery to the learned world.” Tiedman Giese, Bishop of Kulm also insisted for a long time on publication. Copernicus’s brother Andreas was a high-ranking curialist… John Paul II knew what he was doing when he “rehabilitated” Galileo who, like Muhammad, believed in “7 hanging paradises” and 72 virgins awaiting him…

On the 16th of August 1820, the Congregation of the Holy Office reported that Settele, the professor of astronomy at Rome and Washington might teach (Venia legendi) the Copernican system as truth established. This meant promotion of T.Paine’s anti-Semitism based on his admiration for philosophical heliocentrism and contempt for “barbarity” of Jewish Biblical culture. Quite recently Pope John Paul II recognized evolutionary hypothesis also as truth established.

My Most Important Publications

1. In Naked Tango (1991) the Hypocritical Hebrews have set a kosher slaughterhouse and even a synagogue immediately adjacent to the bordello in which they practice monstrous cruelty and are engaged in white slavery. After the film version of Jesus Christ Superstar – featuring a slo-mo whipping of Christ, Samuel L. Gaber, the director of the Anti-Defamation League of the B’nai Brith, wrote, “Director N. Jewison helped perpetuate the lie that slandered the Jews in Fiddler on the Roof: the charge that the Jews, collectively, killed Christ. From an anti-Semitic stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar, an even more anti-Semitic film was created.” Gibson’s Passion belongs to the same anti-Semitic category. The caption under a crucifix in the Nazi children’s book, Der Giftpilz (The Poisonous Mushroom) reads: “When you see a cross, remember the gruesome murder of the Jews on Golgotha…”
Accordingly, Hollywood’s pictures emphasize a future that is dominated by fascistic governments (like Ahmadinejad, Hezbollah, Hamas) that work hard to stamp out every scrap of “Jewish” individuality. Though Jews are still prominent in many areas in the Hollywood community of all the Oscars handed out for acting and directing since 1989, not one has gone to a Jewish performer or filmmaker.

Reassessing A. Hitler’s Artistic Genius

William College Museum of Art in the United States sponsored an exhibition entitled Prelude to a Nightmare: Art, Politics, and Hitler’s Early Years in Vienna, 1906-13.The curator of the exhibit, Deborah Rotschild (naturally, to make it more credible!) stated that Hitler “was fueled not by the usual political motives but by the aesthetic ambition to ‘beautify the world.’

The columnist in the Wall Street Journal noted: “She not only turned history on its head but turned the heads of some art critics to the extent that they took Ms. Rotschild’s eccentric thesis far beyond what she ever intended. Thus, some art critics suggested “adding Hitler to the list of the great artists of the 20th Century;” that “Nazism was a program to remodel (sic) the world according to a certain taste.” (Actually, the Nazis were to remodel the world according to the taste of a certain Hermann Ahlwardt as expressed in his book Der Verzweiflungskampf der arischen Voelker mit den Judentum (The Desperate Struggle of the Aryan Peoples with Jewry), which was inspired by the ideas of Anglo-Israelitism.

The New York Times (again, who else!) praised the show for its wealth of fascinating material. “Ms. Rotschild suggested that Hitler exterminated the Jews because their physical appearance offended his sensibilities (Germany had no beauty salons and no extreme makeover TV),” wrote the Journal. Apparently, there is no greater crime that the victim can perpetrate on his killer than “offending his artistic sensibilities.” Keep in mind that A. Hitler’s favorite piece of art was Leda with Swan in front of which he used to stand for hours in the Berlin Museum. A. Hitler was a gay and sometimes earned his “dog’s price”.

Berel Wein in his paper Aesthetic Adolf for The Jewish Herald commented on this exhibition as follows: “Apparently all that we are missing is a little Wagner in our lives, and an appreciation of Hitler’s true desire to beautify the world. Ah, if we only had that, all problems, disputes and violence would waft away on the wings of stirring music and kitsch watercolors. However, in the real world that we are forced to live in, exhibitions of Hitler’s watercolors only encourage the activities of the neo-Nazi skinheads who proliferate in Western society. Blaming the IDF for all imagined wrongs in our current struggle only encourages the Hamas bombers. Get real guys! The Hague Court is not going to indict Ismail Haniya ever, no matter what! They are only after us, because we are not, and never have been acceptable to Nordic and/or Aryan latent and overt anti-Semitic “tastes.” These supermen only wish to “beautify the world,” and we are not aesthetically beautiful enough in their eyes to justify our existence as a nation, a state, or even as a faith.”

But was A. Hitler really a genius? Joachim C. Fest in his biography Hitler (1974:29) wrote: “In October, 1907, Hitler applied for the drawing examination at the Academy. The classification list contains the entry: ‘The following gentlemen submitted unsatisfactory drawings or were not admitted to the examination: … Adolf Hitler, Braunau a. Inn, April 20, 1889, German, Catholic, Father civil servant, upper rank, four grades of Realschule. Few heads. Sample drawing unsatisfactory.’”

Next year, In September 1908, Hitler once more made an attempt to enter the painting class at the Academy. The candidates’ list noted that this time he was “not admitted to the test”; the paintings he had submitted did not meet the preliminary requirements for the examination. (33)
On two pages between 564-565 J. Fest reproduced 8 drawings of public buildings, domed halls, arches of triumph, tanks, battleships from Hitler’s sketchbook of 1925. Watching these drawings I was under a strong impression that people forced to live in the buildings designed by A. Hitler would be committing suicides. A deep melancholy and spiritual nihilism pervade these drawings exactly like the poems of the so-called French escapists. This man was destined to become a mass murderer. Like Yassir Arafat, Haniyeh…

Consider in this context the “artistic genius” of Dr. Jack Kevorkian self-styled Doctor Death, one of the open admirers of Hitler’s. A gallery in Detroit recently exhibited 13 Kevorkian works: there were severed heads, rotting corpses, that sort of thing. Dr. Kevorkian has more than willingness to accept the inevitability of death; he has a fascination with the subject. As a young doctor, he photographed the eyes of dying patients, saying this was “interesting.” At times he has suggested that lots of people could be candidates for assisted suicide: not just the terminally ill, but people with “severe trauma” or “intense anxiety”. He cheerfully preaches “medicide.” We could put the Palestinian “martyrs” into the category of assisted suicide cases.

In 1928 Goebbels wrote in Der Angriff, the SS newspaper “We have come to the Reichstag in order to destroy it. If democracy is stupid enough to reward us for doing this, this is the problem of democracy.” Is democracy stupid enough again to reward Haniyeh for what he is doing?

Petain and his people wished to eliminate the idea that France was defined by laws embodying liberty and equality. They proposed their own version of a cultural revolution – by excluding Jews and other enemies, by diminishing or even abolishing democracy. Read, please Tragedy and Farce. How the American Media Sell Wars, Spin Elections, and Destroy Democracy. With Illustrations by Tom Tomorrow and a Foreword by Time Robbins. John Nichols & Robert W. McChesney. 2006 Keep in mind that the word the Muslims and Catholics hate the most is “democracy.”

Sheldon Cohen’s Israel, Foreign Preference – Foreign Influence Cases in Insight Magazine of the Washington Times of June 27 to July 4, 2006 should be read in this context. We learn from the article that the Pentagon asks American Jewish applicants for security clearance the question: “Would you be willing to join a U.S. attack on Israel and abandon your relatives if the Jewish State was threatened?” By posing such a question the Pentagon has sought to increasingly restrict access to American Jews with relatives in Israel for jobs in the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc. The applicants know that The Pentagon would like them to fight against the country where their religion and soul resides only because Arabists, slaved to oil, want the only Jewish nation to be obliterated as the Europeans – at the behest of the German Nazis attempted to do to show their gratitude to their Islamofascist collaborator Hajj Amin el-Husseini.
Logically, one is entitled to translate that question into a political statement, which says that it, it’s not Saudi Arabia or other Muslim nations who hate America’s Judeo-Christian ethics but it’s Jewish nation, which threatens our national security. Hitler was able to sell this psychosis to the German people so he must have been a political and artistic genius. Maybe, one day we will learn the question Ms. Rotschild was asked while applying for her position.
S. Cohen’s article also explains what was the political purpose behind the mass transfer of a veritable horde of Nazis in secret to U.S. soil and their later absorption into the CIA, business associations and media moguls (See. Ch. Simpson Blowback: America’s recruitment of Nazis and its effect on the Cold War. 1988). True, Cohen did not mention what were the answers of people like C. Weinberger, S. Berger, D. Feith or Wolfowitz and others to the Pentagon’s recruiting question, but he did not need to. We can guess.

The “Israel Lobby” is but a fig leaf masking behind-the-scenes dealings of the U.S. government with real enemies of the Jewish State. I was shocked to learn that Ivy League professors’ views on “Jewish secret power” match similar views entertained by uneducated, mostly illiterate Polish women working as home attendants in Boro Park and elsewhere. They inherit these views from their Catholic mothers who used to receive free copies of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion from local churches.

The small kiosk where the young Hitler is said to have acquired race-hate texts was global now, accessible at the press of a button. As recently as 1997 a German court gave a suspended one-year jail sentence to the European manager of the Internet company Compuserve. His crime was to have transmitted to Germany racist sites and pornography, which had originated in the United States.

In 1988 the German magazine Focus ran an interview with an Austrian bus conductor called Adolf Hittler. Despite many urgings the man had refused to change his name, and it appeared that he had lost jobs, and his wife, too, as a consequence of his obduracy. “They call in the middle of the night,” he complained. “They say, ‘We’ve got one in the gas chamber for you,’” he complained.

It was P. Buchanan who reportedly scripted Pres. Reagan’s chilling remarks about how SS soldiers buried at Bitburg “were victims, just as surely as the victims in the concentration camps.” Buchanan described Hitler as “an individual of great courage, a soldier’s soldier,” and referred to Holocaust survivors’ memories as “group fantasies of martyrdom.” In Hitler’s opinion America was a mongrel nation, “half Judaized, half Negrified.”

The Israel Lobby Thinking in the U.S. Military

21:15 Jul 20, '06 / 24 Tammuz 5766

(IsraelNN.com) American military strategists have questioned Israel's strategy in its retaliation against Hizbullah terrorist targets in Lebanon. The former head of the U.S. Army War College, Stephen Biddle, charged that Israel's bombing is aimed at pressuring "others into solving their problems for them." Another strategist, James Dobbins of the Rand Corp., stated that Israel's military targets "have no conceivable relationship to Hizbullah."

BASSEM MROUE Associated Press Writer reported on July 21, 2006: ”Saddam Hussein said in a letter released Friday that President Bush and pro-Israel groups lied to Americans to justify the Iraq war, and he added that Iran "and its agents" helped facilitate the aggression.”

Will the U.S. and the U.K. attack Israel from Iraq?

Some of the most interesting responses to Mearsheimer & Walt now world-famous hate propaganda about the Israel Lobby came from Israel. Haaretz, the liberal daily, reflected in an editorial that whatever the article’s weaknesses, it would be “irresponsible” to ignore its “serious and disturbing message.” Instead of seeking to strengthen the Israeli Lobby so that it can push US policymakers to back Israel “unreservedly,” the paper said, “the Israeli government must understand that the world (! ruled by the Palestine Lobby?-r.p.) will not wait forever for Israel to withdraw from the territories, and that the opinions expressed in the article could take root in American politics if Israel does not change the political reality quickly.” The essay, concluded the newspaper, “does not deserve condemnation; rather, it should serve as a warning sign.”

It is important to remember who were the chief practitioners of racism for most of this nation's history: namely, its dominant white majority. Blacks, Indians, Asians, Jews and certainly Latinos have all, in the past few centuries, faced an uphill battle against this institutionalized racism, and they have only made gains by asserting without apology their right to a full place at the table - full political, social and economic equity. And that explains why are we now faced with fresh anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about "cultural Marxism" and the Israel Lobby from mainstream conservatives. Consider, for instance, Duke's latest opus, which is titled Jewish Supremacism: My Awakening on the Jewish Question. The Israel Lobby matches Duke’s Jewish Supremacism.
When you consider these facts you will better understand that the present Israeli-Lebanese war is not of Israel or Hezbollah’s doing. Bigger forces are lurking behind this conflict. Consider this unprecedented event. According to Xinhua agency’s report of July 17, Chinese President Hu Jintao, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh held a trilateral summit meeting, the first of its kind among the three countries. At the summit, Hu said China, Russia and India, who have set up bilateral strategic partnership among them, have vital influence on the international and regional affairs. These are the countries that have the worst memories of the British colonial power and are not ready to welcome the return of this power to the Middle East or to any other part of the world, for that matter.

And here is two more news:

ST. PETERSBURG, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is not intending to propose initiatives on resolving the conflict between Israel and Lebanon, but will use its authority in the Arab world to stop the violence, a presidential aide said Friday.

MOSCOW, July 19 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian deputy foreign minister met with the Jordanian foreign minister in Amman Wednesday to discuss the escalating violence in the Middle East and means of ending it, the Russian ministry said.

Evangelicals unite for Israel
More than 3,400 evangelical Christians converged on Washington to urge stronger support for Israel.
Christians United for Israel, with representatives from 50 states, attended a banquet Tuesday night and heard speakers including Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.); Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Daniel Ayalon; Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.); and Ken Mehlman, chairman of the Republican National Committee. The conference was the Christian group’s inaugural event.
Members of the group met Wednesday with legislators and attended a pro-Israel rally near the White House.
“Israel has been a longtime friend and ally of the United States, and Christians everywhere have a biblical responsibility to support the Jewish people,” said the Rev. John Hagee, the organization’s founder.

US wants Israel to put Sheeba Farms on the table
By HERB KEINON, JPOST
The US is “counseling” Israel to negotiate a possible withdrawal from the Mount Dov (Shaba Farms) area with Lebanon as part of a long-term arrangement for Lebanon, The Jerusalem Post has learned. [..]
The US is not pressing Israel on the issue, but is discussing with Jerusalem when the right time would be to put it on the table, the Post has learned. The concern in both Washington and Jerusalem is that a willingness to talk about this not be interpreted as a victory for Hizbullah. Nevertheless, the US is counseling Israel to consider when to raise the issue.

Peace process or land for peace both slogans are equivalent and mean slicing Israel out of existence, until nothing is left to be sliced out. But Adonay is a man of war, the Lord is His name. Let them slice Him out of existence. They tried it once from the top of the Tower of Babylon. And they try again from the same place…

Roman Pytel, Poles for Israel Thursday, July 27, 2006

From Y.Arafat to Nasrallah

From Arafat to Nasrallah

Reassessment of Ezra Pound’s Genius

In greeting President Bush’s re-election, the British historical preservation society, English Heritage, has unveiled an official honorary “blue plaque” at the London house where the late American-born, virulently anti-Semitic poet Ezra Pound lived from 1909 to 1914. Pound, whose pivotal role in the 20th century literature was overshadowed by his anti-Semitic views, was tried for treason in the U.S. at the end of WWII for having broadcast Fascist propaganda and speaking in favor of Adolf Hitler. He was declared insane and acquitted. It is worth reminding in this context that during the post-Farouk era, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Hajj Amin held court at a closely guarded villa on Sharia Assuit Street in Heliopolis, a suburb of Cairo. There he entertained delegations from throughout the Arab world while maintaining close contact with former Nazis from Germany and other countries. Among those who gathered at the Mufti’s house during the mid-1950s was the distant cousin, Y. Arafat, then an engineering student at the University of Cairo. Former Major General Otto Ernst Remer, Fuehrer’s chief bodyguard, who would collaborate with Arafat in the years ahead, also visited the esteemed Grossmufti on several occasions. They shared fond recollections of A. Hitler and indulged in the usual talk of driving the Jews into the sea.

According to CIA documents released in the aftermath of Pope Benedict’s visit to Auschwitz the CIA took no action after learning the pseudonym and whereabouts of the fugitive Holocaust administrator A. Eichmann in 1958. The CIA was told by West German intelligence that Eichmann was living in Argentina under the name Clemens but did not share the information with Israel, which has been hunting for him for years, according to Timothy Naftali, a historian who examined the documents. Two years later, Israeli agents, informed by West-German prosecutor Bauer, abducted Eichmann in Argentina and flew him to Israel where he was tried and executed in 1962. (The New York Times June 6, 2006)
By protecting A. Eichmann, the CIA protected also the ill-famous Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who planned with A. Eichmann, from the very beginning, and then supervised and directed as “permanent colleague, partner and adviser to Eichmann,” the World War II extermination of the European Jews. (Francisco Gil_White How did the ‘Palestinian movement’ emerge? The British sponsored it. Then the German Nazis, and the US – www.hirhome.com/israel/pal_mov4.htm)
Friend in High Places Rescue the Palestinian Fuehrer
On August 30, 1982, the day of his departure from Beirut, Arafat behaved like a victor. At 9:45 A.M. Prime Minister Wazzan accompanied Arafat in his black Mercedes limousine in a speeding motorcade, horns and sirens blaring, which was led by truckloads of French troops. At the port, guarded by US marines and Lebanese soldiers to ensure Arafat’s safety, Arafat gave Wazzan a medal and proclaimed that the PLO and Lebanon had defeated Israel and its defense minister, Ariel Sharon, in particular. Not a single representative of any Arab state came to see Arafat off.

Finally, accompanied by an entourage of several dozen aides and amid chants of “Revolution until victory!” and “Palestine is Arab!” Arafat boarded the Atlantis, a cruise ship placed at his disposal by the Greek government since Arab regimes were so unwilling to help him.
A fifteen-gun salute boomed out. The Atlantis gleamed white in the bright sunlight as it steamed out of the harbor escorted by a French and an American cruiser. Nine other U.S. and French warships maneuvered to guard Arafat in the Mediterranean. Arafat stood on deck wearing his pistol and black-and-white-checked kafiyya, still flashing a V-for-victory sign.

The PLO even considered setting up its new headquarters in Greece, said Abu Iyyad, “to make the Arab world look silly.” Seven Arab states had taken in some PLO men, but the rank and file’s mood was typified by a soldier who proclaimed, “Not only Israel is the enemy, but the Arabs – Saudi Arabia, Syria, and all of them. When we get rid of the Arab rulers, we will fight Israel.” For the first time in history, Abu Iyyad noted sarcastically, the Arab countries had all agreed on something: to betray the PLO. The snow of mountain peaks, Arafat complained, “were warmer than the hearts of some of the Arab regimes.”

There was no countervailing gratitude, for the US, which had saved Arafat by finding him a safe refuge when no Arab country wanted to take the PLO. Finally, and not without difficulty, it had persuaded far-off Tunisia to host the PLO’s headquarters. Arafat blamed the US for not keeping its commitment to protect those Palestinians left behind. Yet as always, the US saw Arafat’s defeat in Lebanon as less a chance to destroy him than an opportunity to push him toward peace. That’s what the so-called peace process is all about.

Neither War, nor Peace or Road Map to Nowhere

Another suicide bombing. Another couple of terrorist groups taking “credit” for it. Another speech by an American president “deploring the act.” Another promise that the “peace process” will not be derailed. Over and over and over and over again. It’s no accident that the mayhem in the Middle East is often referred to as a “cycle of violence” But it is impossible to explain the collective amnesia of those dedicated to the folly of negotiating with a PLO, which promises to “crack down on the violence” even as the suicide bombings continue unabated.
Whether the Bush administration realizes it or not, the message they’re sending to terrorist groups like Hamas and the Al Aqsa Martyr’s Brigade is clear: The peace process will require a certain tolerance” toward those who’d derail it with the murder of innocents.”
Of course, it is far more palatable to refer to this message as he “bumpy road” to peace.
It is not a road to peace. It is a road to nowhere. And it is a road littered with the bodies of those who have been sacrificed by well meaning, but naïve politicians who continue to ignore the past even as they are condemned to repeat it. (New York Post, May 23, 2003).

Khaled al-Hassan knew, that an old friend, the CIA’s Robert Ames, was close to Shultz. Shortly after he took over, Shultz gave Ames another assignment: to help the State Department draft the outlines for a new American approach to the Arab world and the Arab-Israeli conflict. On September 1, 1982 that approach surfaced publicly as the Reagan Peace plan.

The September 1982 Reagan plan gave Arafat an opening he could have used to join a political process. It proposed that West Bank and Gaza Palestinians govern themselves for a five-year period followed by negotiations, an Israeli withdrawal, and full peace. The projected goal was a Jordanian-Palestinian state, hardly Arafat’s preferred outcome. For the first time US served notice, it would oppose the annexation of Judea and Samaria.

Arafat was on the high seas when Reagan began his nationally televised address. In his own words, Arafat quit Beirut because his Moslem allies begged, “Please, Yassir, (Please, Nasrallah, Haniyeh) this is enough: 52, 000 killed and wounded, almost half of them Lebanese!” Today, Arafat admits, “They had a right to say that. I felt because I began to feel the responsibility of killing their children.”

And yet it was not Y. Arafat who was accused by American press of war crimes, but Israeli commander-in-chief Gen. A. Sharon. According to the Annual 1983 of The Americana that was what happened.
Statements emanating from Rome have also been slanted against Israel. There have been no condemnations of the suicide-bombing horror. An article published in Osservatore Romano – the Vatican’s official newspaper – virtually accused Israel of genocide!”

11 November, 2004

VATICAN-PALESTINE
He led his people towards independence, Navarro says

May God bring peace to the Holy Land with two free states.

Vatican City (AsiaNews) – a leader who loved his people and led it towards independence. This is how Joaquín Navarro-Valls, Director of the Press Office of the Holy See, describes Yasser Arafat in a statement in which he called on God to bring peace to the Holy Land “with two independent and sovereign states, fully reconciled with one another”.
“The Holy See,” Navarro said, “joins the Palestinian people in its hour sorrow for the death of President Yasser Arafat. He was a charismatic leader who led his people and sought to guide it towards national independence. May God in his Mercy welcome the soul of the great leader and grant peace to the Holy Land with two independent and sovereign states, fully reconciled with one another”.
In 1991, Y. Arafat was being skewered in the Arab media. Musa Sabri, an Egyptian journalist felt free to write these stinging words: “You are a corrupt war criminal, you clown. You betrayed those who fed you and meanly stabbed those who helped you. You are the clown of every circus…It is time you retire away from us, you treacherous bloodsucker.” (Cited in Uri Kupferschmidt, Egypt, 1993, p. 361) Well, Pope John Paul II embraced the “corrupt war criminal” Y. Arafat eight times! Musa Sabri had written his “fatwa” when International peace conference, with participation by Palestinians under PLO control, was being convoked to Madrid, Spain. The Egyptian government closed down the one and only English-language newspaper in the country. The corrupt war criminal was received 14 times by Pope John Paul II and 6 times by Pres. B. Clinton.

Michael Young, opinion editor of The Daily Star newspaper in Lebanon in his article for the New York Times OP-ED of December 5, 2003: “…a majority of Arab states has refused to normalize relations with Israel until the Palestinian issue is resolved. While Arab public opinion would accept nothing less, on ethical grounds, this means the Palestinian issue and public support for it have stifled contravening policies that states might otherwise contemplate pursuing in their national interest. In effect, Palestine, far more than raison d’état, has come to define how Arab states approach Israel.
“Yet, how could governments behave otherwise in a region where Palestine has become a benchmark for justice and the definition of injustice? That Egypt and Jordan managed to make peace with Israel says much more about the specific circumstances in which their respective agreements were concluded than about any ambient Arab readiness to break ranks on a comprehensive settlement.

“Specific Arab states have also paid a heavy price for the sanctity of the Palestinian struggle – none more so than my own country, Lebanon. It has been twice deprived: first, in the 1970s, when it was prevented by its Arab counterparts from defending against the encroachment of the Palestinian national movement, which used the country as a base of operations against Israel; and second at present, because the regions fixation on the Palestinians has taken the spotlight away from Syria’s open-ended military presence in Lebanon, which began in 1976.
“In reaffirming the value of such issues and playing down the importance of the Palestinian predicament with respect to how it affects them, Arab would not only help themselves, but also the very people whose sad destiny they cannot seem to quite shake off.”

And yet the Clinton administration always accused Israel of using “excessive force” against Palestinians. The New York Times reported on November 21, 2000 After Gaza Rocket Attack, State Department Gives Israel Stern Warning: “Soon after rockets from Israeli heliocopters and ships were shown live on television here lightning up the night sky over Gaza, the State Department issued a statement that said, in part, “The Israelis also need to understand that the excessive use of force is not the right way to go.”
No matter how many times Arafat appeared unreliable, he was given another chance. There were several reasons for this situation. Arafat’s support was deemed indispensable for making peace, and the fact that he was the one remaining roadblock only made pleasing or persuading him seem more urgent.

This was why, for example, Clinton refused to criticize Arafat after he broke up the Camp David summit. Any conflict with Arafat was seen as making it harder to ease the problem. Asked about reports that he was “disappointed by Arafat,” Clinton replied, “I don’t think that anything I say that stirs this up is very helpful…We need to stop people dying…This is not the time to be assessing that. This is a time to…end violence, to keep calm, to start the peace process again, and then they can establish some mechanism to evaluate what happened and why, and how to keep it from ever happening again.” In Pres. Clinton’s view the Palestinian were always complying with peace process while the Israelis were always blamed for not complying.

Albright voiced similar ideas. She would “hate to begin to think” he (Arafat) was not a partner for peace. This would be an admission of failure and the terrible difficulty of solving the conflict. “We were so close” to an agreement, and since Arafat “is respected and is obviously the leader of the Palestinian people,” his cooperation was essential to reduce violence and return to the “peace track”.
Read what former Clinton administration national security adviser Sandy Berger said in a manifesto written while he was a senior foreign political adviser to Kerry: “As part of a new bargain with our allies, the U.S. must re-engage in … ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict…As we re-engage in the peace process and rebuild frayed ties with our allies, what should a Democratic President ask of our allies in return? First and foremost, we should ask for a real commitment of troops and money to Afghanistan and Iraq.”

Do not be fooled by the euphemism “peace process”. We know what it meant during the eight years Berger served in the Clinton White House – a White House to which Y. Arafat was invited more than any leader on the planet. It meant believing Arafat’s deceptions about peace while letting him to get away with the most virulent incitement to and unrelenting support of terrorism. It meant constant pressure on Israel to make one territorial concession after another – in return for nothing. Worse than nothing: Arafat ultimately launched a vicious terror war that killed a thousand Israeli innocents. (The Daily News Oct. 24, 2004)
Yet Arafat’s incitement, the political atmosphere he created, and the tactics he justified were also pushing Palestinians in a radical direction. Inasmuch as Arafat was signaling Palestinians as his goals, they were those of revolutionary armed struggle until victory. Public opinions polls in 2002 showed that half of all Palestinians saw the Intifada’s goals as being “to liberate all of historic Palestine.” The other half wanted a Palestinian state alongside Israel yet many of them also saw this as a first step toward total victory by future struggles and using the return of refugees to subvert Israel. Emboldened by this atmosphere, Qaddumi stated that the PLO no longer recognized Israel; and had reverted to the goal of destroying it.

After the Jerusalem bloodbath of July 30, 1997 Steve Dunleavy published in New York Post an article entitled:
Hey, Bill, stop tying Israel’s hands

We know that terrorists are on our doorsteps right now,” said Sen. Al D’Amato (R-N.Y.).
“But if we don’t help Israel right now to extinguish these terrorists, they will be in our living room in America (That happened 4 years later – rp). And they will blow our living room. The World Trade Center was a frightening and sobering experience for us to realize that terror is here. The Clinton administration has empowered Yasser Arafat. What is the Clinton administration doing to make him accountable for this and other outrages? Does Arafat lock them up? No. The Clinton administration demands concessions from Israel but nothing from Arafat.
“Unqualified support comes from an unlikely ally, Rep. Chuck Schumer (D-Brooklyn) who has introduced a bipartisan International Terrorist Bill that stays stuck in Congress.
“It’s about time somebody kicked the State Department in the butt,” Schumer told me. “On both sides of the aisle in Congress, there is great dubiousness about how the State Department is handling relations with Yasser Arafat.”

“Plainly put, in my words but not Chuck’s words, both the State Department and Barnacle Bill Clinton have been telling Israel to cool it.
“Meanwhile, the Hamas, protected by Arafat who has ordered too many people killed, has been heating up the peace process with body parts of the innocent flying all over a street.
“By the time the terrorist bill went through, it wasn’t half a loaf, it was a third of a loaf,” Schumer said, “The State Department has refused to move on what I and the FBI have pushed for. One, the FBI knows that these terrorist groups like the Hamas gets safe haven here because of our immigration laws. But the feds can identify these guys pretty good. Two, we even allow fund-raising here for the so-called starving kids of Palestine. If that money was going to starving kids, you get my money.”
“If not, as Sen. D’Amato and Rep. Schumer predict, you, and us, might have more on our plate than we can handle, and the next TWA Flight 800 won’t be an unsolved mystery.

“Charles Schumer asked: “How many more innocent people must die before Y. Arafat does his duty as a world leader? We need to start asking how Congress can continue to fund the PLO when tragedies such as this remain all too common,” he said.
“Secretary General Kofi Annan condemned the “abominable and unfortunate” attack and noted that he had just thanked Netanyahu for delaying a construction projection that upset “Saint” Palestinians.
“Britain, France, Canada and Germany all denounced the attack and sent sympathy to Israel – but pleaded with Nenanyahu to keep the peace process going. Rest in Peace Process Y. Arafat!”

Making Terrorists

Let me quote here from article entitled Making Terrorists published on October 24-30, 2001 by New York Press: “Then there was the Clinton administration. Just as it intervened in Bosnia and Kosovo to ensure victory for the most gangsterish terrorists, it stepped into the wars of Afghanistan to secure the Talibans’ triumph. It went out of its way to make sure that arms did not reach anti-Taliban forces. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia seized the moment to resupply the Taliban and ensure their victory, as the Clinton administration knew they would.
It seems strange to recall the US government’s warm welcome for the Taliban. State Department spokesman Glyn Davies declared confidently, ‘According to what they’ve said so far, that’s an indication to us that they intend to respect the rights of all their citizens.’ The Clinton administration had a pecuniary motive. It wanted the California oil giant, Unocal, to build a giant gas pipeline from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan’s Arabian coast. The Taliban were enthusiastic proponents of this project.

Paving Way for Ahadinejad’s Election Victory
Hossein Derakhshan who writes the farsi-English blog Editor:Myself wrote in his article Democracy’s Double Standard (New York Times¸ Feb. 1, 2006):
Shame on the U.S. for backing Iran’s election boycott.
“In Iran last June, the call for a boycott resonated with frustrated and apathetic voters. Many, if not most, moderates and reform advocates stayed home from the polls. And we all know what followed: the philosophy-loving moderate, Mohammad Khatami, was replaced as president by a radical militant, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad – a former military commander who presides over one of the most extreme governments post-revolutionary Iran has yet had.
“That’s right: with what appeared to be endorsement of President Bush and dozens of American-based satellite television channels that broadcast in Farsi, the disillusioned young people of Iran effectively took one of the world’s most closely watched nuclear programs out of the hands of a reformer and placed it into the hands of a hard-line reactionary. Where Rafsanjani and Khatami tried to redefine Islam to please the modern world, a world that is shaped and dominated by Western ideas, Ahmadinejad is trying to revive the purest definition of the faith. He asserts that Islam is an alternative to the current global system, not a candidate for becoming a small part of it.
“Seen in this context, his pledge to wipe Zionism off the map like “a stain of shame” is an attempt to force everyone to take sides. He is asking everyone to decide the nature of the Israel-Palestine conflict. Is it only about statehood, borders, security, sharing of water, settlements and diplomatic relations? If so, it cannot, should not, be treated as a religious conflict, Muslim vs. Jew. It would be a political conflict, one of countless such throughout history and all the religious energy injected into it over the past half-century must be regarded as misplaced.

“Those who have tried to build a life on the basis of a little bit of Islam and a little bit of Western modernism are made uncomfortable by Ahmadinejad – who is forcing everyone to take sides. He believes the world is heading for a clash of civilizations in which Islam is the only credible alternative to Western domination. And he is convinced that Islam will win. The dilemma that Ahmadinejad has created for Islamists inside and outside Iran remains. He says Islam is not just a flavor to add to policies that are not, indeed cannot be, Islamic. Either we go the whole way and abolish politics as a space distinct from religion, or we stop using religion as a device to give our policies the legitimacy they do not deserve.”

Paving Way for Hamas’s Election Victory

After years of being targeted by stabbings, shootings and suicide bombings, Israelis had begun to think that Hamas was in fact a terrorist organization out to spill Jewish blood. But not the American media. An item on the CNN Web site referred to Abu Shahab as “a moderate member” of the group, while TIME magazine labeled him “a political leader” who was “considered rather moderate at that.”
It was the same “moderate” Hamas leader who regularly justified suicide bombings against Israelis, praised those who carried them out and labeled all Israelis “legitimate targets” of Palestinian violence. After a Palestinian terrorist blew himself up at the entrance of the Mifgash Hasharon restaurant in Herzliya, killing a 15-year-old Israeli girl, Abu Shahab applauded the atrocity. And shortly after the start of the current Palestinian terror campaign, Abu Shahab made it clear that no Israeli would be considered off-limits. And yet the Associated Press filed a story (“Slain Hamas Leader Known as Moderate”) that at times reads like a eulogy: “While he backed the Hamas position that there is no place for a Jewish state in the Middle East, he was known as one of the group’s more sober minds.” In other words, Abu Shahab may indeed have wanted to destroy the state of Israel and murder all 5 million of its Jewish citizens, but don’t let that fool you because he had a “sober” mind. You can as well insist that Taliban should have participated in the Afghan elections etc.
“While Israel welcomes the Palestinian Authority’s efforts to democratize the areas under its control, there must be benchmarks for those who want to participate in this process. First and foremost, they must demonstrate their commitment to the basic democratic value of a central authority with sole possession of arms.
“Terrorists brandishing weapons openly do not go hand in hand with free and safe societies. Neither do people calling for the annihilation of their neighbors. We should not let terrorists hijack democratic elections.
“Witness the lesson learned from the Lebanese elections this year. Some naively expected a “democratically” elected Hezbollah to suddenly embrace Jeffersonian values. But buoyed by their new place in the government, Hezbollah continues to launch attacks on northern Israel and advocates continued Syrian and Iranian involvement in Lebanon.
How can you ask that we make easier the legitimization of those who seek our destruction?” (NYT, Dec. 24, 2005)

Interestingly, Sheikh Abdallah ibn Jabarin, the greatest Wahhabi mufti in the Saudi court, issued a fatwa forbidding providing help to Hezbollah, and called them ‘rafidin,’ a derogatory Sunni term for Shi’tes.
Also, Sheikh Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi, the mufti of Al-Azhar, has joined the Wahhabi mufti of the Saudi court and declared that Hezbollah’s resistance is an adventurous act, that Hassan Nasrallah is a megalomaniac, and that he wants to imitate Salah Al-Din Al-Ayyubi. The Nazis are not allowed to run in Germany, nor are the Taliban permitted to run in Afghanistan or the Baathists welcome to run in Iraq.
And surely, a terrorist organization should not be allowed to participate in a round of elections that are supposed to help promote a peace process.
JOEL SONKIN, New York, Dec. 22, 2005

Palestinian Campaign for an Election That May Not Be Held

Campaigning for Palestinian legislative elections opened Tuesday despite doubts about whether the vote will actually take place on Jan. 25.Fatah is looking for reasons to postpone the elections, because of fears that Hamas will win more than 40% of the 132 seats at stake and become either the most powerful political force of a sizeable blocking minority in the future legislature. Many Fatah veterans would rather have no election than hand over such power to Hamas. Hamas opposes another delay in the vote, having already agreed to Mr. Abbas’s request to move the election from July to this month. (New York Times, Jan 4, 2006)

In the charter, Hamas describes itself as “a distinct Palestinian Movement which owes its loyalty to Allah, derives from Islam its way of life and strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine.”
It describes the struggle against the Jews as a religious obligation for every Muslim, saying, “For our struggle against the Jews is extremely wide-ranging and grave, so much so that it will need all the loyal efforts we can wield, to be followed by further steps and reinforced by successive battalions from the multifarious Arab and Islamic world, until the enemies are defeated and Allah’s victory prevails.”
It calls for the elimination of Israel and Jews from Islamic holy land and portrays the Jews as evil, citing an anti-Semitic version of history going back to the Crusades. It also includes a reference to the noted czarist forgery of a plan for world domination, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and condemnation of supposedly Zionist organizations like the Rotary Club and the Masons. (New York Times, Jan. 22, 2006)

No Hamas leader or candidate is on record as sanctioning a permanent recognition of Israel’s right to exist side by side with an independent Palestinian state, which has been the cornerstone assumption of peace negotiations since the Oslo accords in 1993.
Nor is any Hamas leader on record as expressing a willingness to disarm or to stop attacks on Israel and Israelis, or to make a distinction between Israeli soldiers and civilians, especially settlers living on occupied land, however defined. (One June 25, 1987 amid criticism from the international Jewish community, Pope John Paul II gave an audience to Austria’s President Kurt Waldheim, suspected of participating in Nazi war crimes. Palestinians encouraged by such rehabilitation of Nazi ideology organized Hamas.)

The Arab News reports that former US President Jimmy Carter, in a Washington Post opinion piece published Monday, cautioned the US and Israel not to punish the Palestinian people for electing Hamas. Mr. Carter said "any formal collusion between Israel and the US to disrupt the process by punishing the Palestinian people could be counterproductive and have devastating consequences."
Noting with disdain Israel’s decision to withhold over $50 million per month that the Palestinians earn from customs and tax revenue, Carter said an even greater aggravation by the Israelis “is their decision to hinder movement of elected Hamas Palestinian Legislative Council members through any of more than a hundred Israeli checkpoints around and throughout the Palestinian territories.” Carter also criticized the Bush Administration for not agreeing to bypass the government and allow funds be channeled through NGOs.

Consider J. Carter’s choice of words at the Geneva Initiative ceremony: “Had I been elected to a second term, with the prestige and authority and influence and reputation I had in the region, we could have moved to a final solution.” His choice of words sends shivers through one’s spine, observed Charles Thaler in The Jewish Week (Dec. 19, 2003).

Haniyeh: Israel’s existence raises issues,
We need “liberation from the river to the sea”
Israel must resolve issues raised by its existence to bring about peace, the Palestinian Authority prime minister said. It’s not enough for Israel to address its occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, Ismail Haniyeh wrote Tuesday, July 11, 2006 in The Washington Post.
“If Israel is prepared to negotiate seriously and fairly, and resolve the core 1948 issues, rather than the secondary ones from 1967, a fair and permanent peace is possible,” wrote Haniyeh, who heads the terrorist group Hamas, which governs the Palestinian Authority and rejects Israel’s existence. Palestinians claim a “right of return” for refugees displaced in the 1948 war, and Hamas says they and their descendants deserve the right to resettle inside Israel.
Israel says any such plan spells the end of the Jewish state. “He is implying claims against the existence of the State of Israel,” Israel Radio quoted Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni as saying in reaction. (JTA, July 11, 2006). In other words, “peace” for the Palestinians means unconditional surrender of Israel.
'Resolving the core 1948 issues…'
Palestinian educational television teaches that all of Israel belongs to the Palestinians. In the days after the Israeli withdrawal it was rebroadcast, on September 6, 2005, to put forward the same message - that all of Israel is Palestine.
Transcript:
The heart of the Arab homeland is Palestine. The speakers are Jareer Al-Qidwa, Chairman of the PA Public Library and the late-Arafat’s Advisor on Education and Dr. Issam Sissalem, of the Islamic University in Gaza. This was broadcast on November 29, 2000.
Transcript:
Al-Qidwa: I want to say that this is our Palestine, from Metulla to Rafiah to Aqaba, and from the River [Jordan] to the [Mediterranean] Sea, whether they want [to believe] it or not.
Sissalem: In '46 they acted here and there in order to create this entity [i.e. Israel]. It’s another to tell untruths in order not to offend your enemies. It’s one thing to give the devil his due. It’s another to do the devil’s public relations. How else to explain a dispatch from the Associated Press referring to Osama bin Laden as “an exiled Saudi dissident”? Such spin may not be inaccurate but it’s like calling Jeffrey Dahmer an “eccentric gourmet.” It rather misses the point, don’t you think? – CLIFFORD D. MAY, president, Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (Forbes, February 27, 2006)

A lot of people lost their minds these days and Bill O’Reilly of the Fox News is one of them. We simply can’t afford to fire that nation. If we lose these people, we’ll lose the war.” Oh, my! United Arab Emirates was one of only three countries in the world that recognized the Taliban regime. As Ahmadinejad, the head of Iran, says, he wants to defeat the Americans and eliminate Israel from the face of the earth. So we should not see this event in isolation. There is an ... Iran/Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas alliance trying to destroy Israel.”
The “Powerful Israel Lobby”

We are now hearing much about the alleged vitality of secular Jewish life in the US. The fact is that when Jews reject traditional practices and beliefs, there is a strong prospect that sooner or later they will reject Israel and even turn against Israel. There are obviously many secular Jews who identify closely with the Jewish State, but the majority is, at best, lukewarm or turned off. Worse yet, the trend is strongly in the direction of further abandonment and hostility. (Marvin Schic, Jews Who Hate Jews, in: The Jewish Sentinel)
Newspapers in the US seem to delight in finding American Jews, like S. Berger, for instance, who will criticize Israel openly. It gives the president of the US the license to do what he sometimes wants to do: to kick Israel in the butt, and favor the Arab position and say “let’s make a deal!” And people who don’t like Israel get to say “The Jews themselves don’t like what Israel is doing.”
Remember that it was Deputy Sec. Paul Wolfowitz, who in speech at Georgetown University drew a clear link between hostility to the US in the Arab world and failure to make a progress on the Israeli-Palestinian track. (The Jewish Herald, Nov. 7. 2003) In other words, we need to slice Israel out of existence to appease the Muslim world.

In 2003, when Feith, who was standing in for Rumsfeld at an interagency ‘Principals’ Meeting’ on the
Middle East, concluded his remarks on behalf of the Pentagon, according to the Washington insider newsletter, The Nelson Report, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice said, ‘Thanks Doug, but when we want the Israeli position we’ll invite the ambassador’.” So how could D. Feith have pushed America into the war in Iraq? Now, there is another problem with Mr. Rice’s outburst. In plain words, it means that an American citizen has no right to entertain pro-Israel views vis-avis pro-Arab views like these of Zbig Brzezinski, who in his interview for Jim Lehrer’s Newshour postulated negotiations with Hamas at first informally and then formally. Thank you Zbig, but when we want the Hamas position we’ll invite Haniyeh, or Ahmadinejad. The right to free speech translates into the right to free thought. Correct me, if I am mistaken.

Pres. Ahmadinejad has refused to respond to proposals from the US, the EU, Russia and China or the UN Security Council to cease Iran’s relentless quest for nuclear enrichment and weapons development program by August 22nd. Why August 22nd? Because August 22nd coincides with the Islamic date of Rajab 28, the day the great Salah El-Din conquered Jerusalem.
An Israeli cartoon, under the headline “America’s ‘Get-Tough’ Policy, AP Headlines: U.S. to Give Iran Nuclear Technology” shows President Ahmadinejad stretching his hand to grab the model of atom and President Bush, standing behind Mr. C. Rice saying, Give it to ‘em, Rice.

If you want to better understand the idea behind this cartoon please, read the following paragraph from Mearsheimer and Walt’s scientific paper The Israel Lobby: “American backing is often justified by the claim that Israel is a fellow-democracy surrounded by hostile dictatorships. This rationale sounds convincing, but it cannot account for the current level of U.S. support. After all, there are many democracies around the world, but none receives the lavish support that Israel does. The United States has overthrown democratic governments in the past and supported dictators when this was thought to advance U.S. interests, and it has good relations with a number of dictatorships today. Thus, being democratic neither justifies nor explains America’s support for Israel.” But wait there is more, right in the next paragraph: “Similarly, Israel does not permit Palestinians who marry Israeli citizens to become citizens themselves, and does not give these spouses the right to live in Israel. The Israeli human rights organization B’tselem called this restriction “a racist law that determines who can live here according to racist criteria.” Such laws may be understandable given Israel’s founding principles, but they are not
consistent with America’s image of democracy.” Isn’t it an oxymoron to say that a President is both a dictator and a democrat? But if that’s a case, why should not Israel behave both ways to please an American president?

How differently the things can be perceived. The idea that Britain is behind much of what goes wrong in Iran is not just as conspiracy theory but also a prism through which to view events. Indeed, America – the Great Satan itself – is often portrayed as merely a hapless, muscle-bound child manipulated by smarter, craftier, more deceitful forces in London
One European diplomat said he once received a gift from an Iranian child: a drawing of America as a marionette with Britain pulling strings. One of the most popular novels in Iran is not Mearsheimer and Walt’s The Jewish Lobby but My Uncle Napoleon, a comic love story spoofing how Iranians see a British hand in all dark deeds. The book popularized the phrase, “This is the job of the cross-eyed British,” which is often used here with a smile, and a wink. It can be said when bombs go off, or when there is really bad traffic. There is a distinction, In Iran, between the American people, who “are good” and the American government, which “is bad.” No such distinction was made for the British. (See Michael Slackman’s In Iranian Eyes, the ‘Cross-Eyed British’ are to Blame NYT, Feb. 10, 2006)
Ahmadinejad’s Dream Come True?
By Richard CohenTuesday, July 18, 2006; A19
The greatest mistake Israel could make at the moment is to forget that Israel itself is a mistake. It is an honest mistake, a well-intentioned mistake, a mistake for which no one is culpable, but the idea of creating a nation of European Jews in an area of Arab Muslims (and some Christians) has produced a century of warfare and terrorism of the sort we are seeing now. Israel fights Hezbollah in the north and Hamas in the south, but its most formidable enemy is history itself.
This is why the Israeli-Arab war, now transformed into the Israeli-Muslim war (Iran is not an Arab state), persists and widens. It is why the conflict mutates and festers. It is why Israel is now fighting an organization, Hezbollah, that did not exist 30 years ago and why Hezbollah is being supported by a nation, Iran, that was once a tacit ally of Israel's. The underlying, subterranean hatred of the Jewish state in the Islamic world just keeps bubbling to the surface. The leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and some other Arab countries may condemn Hezbollah, but I doubt the proverbial man in their street shares that view.
There is no point in condemning Hezbollah. Zealots are not amenable to reason. And there's not much point, either, in condemning Hamas. It is a fetid, anti-Semitic outfit whose organizing principle is hatred of Israel. There is, though, a point in cautioning Israel to exercise restraint -- not for the sake of its enemies but for itself. Whatever happens, Israel must not use its military might to win back what it has already chosen to lose: the buffer zone in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip itself.
cohenr@washpost.com
Only crass ignorance of history and blind belief in conspiracy theories as exemplified by Mearshimer & Walt’s The Israel Lobby can dictate a screed like Mr. R. Cohen’s. In his opinion the worst mistake Israel has ever made was its declaration of independence of 1948. Mr. Cohen is not aware of the fact that Israel was created by the UN vote and not by the Israel Lobby, which allegedly bribed Pres. Truman during his penniless 1948 presidential campaign. Such a view of history was embraced by the Muslim fanatics, because it makes it possible to turn creation of the state of Israel into a political crime.
In fact, the idea of Jewish homeland in Palestine originated with Lord Palmerston, the architect of British 19th century policy, who decided to create a Jewish minority in that area whose protection could serve as a pretext for evicting the Egyptians. The Balfour Declaration was on political horizon. One thing is certain, without British political protection Jews wouldn’t be encouraged to settle down in hostile Palestine.
The British used the Palestine Mandate as a stronghold to foment political strife inside the czarist and then the Soviet Empire. So, when the opportunity occurred, the Soviet Empire struck back. Mightily, from the Pacific to the Atlantic. The best way to subvert the British power in the Middle East and in its colonial possessions in Asia was to undermine their stronghold in the Middle East by creating an independent state of Israel.
Indeed, On May 4, ten days before the actual proclamation of Israel’s independence, Gromyko declared that “a Jewish State is in existence, in spite of attempts by certain countries to impede the implementation of partition.” On the very day of Israel’s Proclamation of Independence, when the Special Assembly session was discussing the American proposal to appoint a United Nations mediator, Gromyko used the fact of “the existence of one of two states provided for in the General Assembly’s resolution, the Jewish State,” as an argument against the appointment. Could Ben Gurion have ignored this statement proclaimed from the rostrum of the United States? Especially that pogrom in Kielce, Poland and in other places forced out 200.000 Jews out of that country and made them run toward the only place where, they hoped, to be safe – Palestine. People who intentionally ignore this history have criminal minds.

The Soviets in their wider political game used the Holocaust card as a moral prerequisite for creation of the Jewish state. But that argument was for the world which was shocked to the core by the monstrosity of the Nazi crime perpetrated on Jewish nation. In terms of realpolitik, the Soviet move was a reaction to a new concession granted by the British government, in March 1948, to the Iraq Petroleum Company in the form of a right to build a second pipeline terminating at Haifa. The Soviets had their own gigantic oil fields they intended to use in their European policy. And thus the British Empire collapsed in the Middle East, India and in the Far East and in Africa. The tiny nation which was tertiated, (i.e. one third of the nation perished), couldn’t have done that. God uses as His tools whomever He chooses, even atheists are not free from His Power! He even uses enemies of Israel for the benefit of the “People of the Book.”

There is point in condemning Hezbollah and Hamas!
In an interview published by the state-controlled newspaper in Egypt al-Watan al-Yom, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said that the activities of "Palestinian and Lebanese resistance fighters obtained only limited gains and that the people were paying the price."
"No one is doubting the rights of the people to resist the powers of occupation but the resistances must make considerations of losses and gains… the inflaming of the situation to make limited gains ignores the basic goal of the Palestinians which the establishment of an independent state," he said.
Voices in the Arab world are condemning Hezbollah: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal has called on the Lebanese government to take control of its border with Israel. "The Lebanese government must apply its sovereignty on all the country's territory," said Faisal.
Since the start of the war, Saudi Arabia has criticized Hezbollah, as have Egypt and Lebanon.
"We support the spreading out of Lebanese forces along all of the territory of the country. The decision of war on peace depend on sovereign countries and not on any other entity, otherwise there will be chaos here," Faisal said during a press conference held on Tuesday. In a July 13, 2006 editorial, the Lebanese daily Al-Mustaqbal criticized the Hezbollah attack on Israel: "Despite the universal joy felt by the Lebanese and Arabs over the success of the Hezbollah operation... the timing [of this operation] has distressed and is [still] distressing large sectors in Lebanon... Whatdistresses them most is that the prerogative of taking a decision [in matters] of war and peace, which [belongs to] the State of Lebanon, has been usurped by the resistance [i.e. by Hezbollah]. Whatever circumstances and reasons [behind] the secrecy of Operation True Promise [Hezbollah's name for the attack; it promised to liberate all prisoners in Israeli jails], they do not change the fact that the Stateof Lebanon, and all the Lebanese [people], have been presented with a fait accompli for which they did not prepare, [and now] they must bear its consequences, which may be dire, when they never [even] had a part in shaping their own fate. In an interview, prominent Lebanese Druze MP Walid Jumblatt told the French daily Le Figaro: "Hezbollah played a very dangerous game by kidnapping these two soldiers... Israel has withdrawn from Lebanon. These kidnappings took place outside our country's borders. Hezbollah is raising the stakes, with the support of Iran and of Syria - which in the past year has become a satellite state of Teheran. Owing to the lack of an Arab or Western initiative regarding the Israeli-Palestinian question, Iran and Syria have taken over, and in this context Lebanon constitutes a natural battlefield... Former Lebanese President Amin Jumail told Al-Jazeera on July 12, 2006: "What occurred today is something very dangerous... We all know that decisions relating to war and peace are sovereign decisions that need to be taken by the government. The initiative that was taken [by Hezbollah] will entangle the country in controversial military actions... This is a great danger to Lebanon, since it is not willing to bethe spearhead of the Arab-Israeli conflict so long as Syria's borders are calm and not a single shot [is being fired] from Syria on the Golan Heights."
Arrogant fool
One Persian Gulf leader called Nasrallah a "fool" for bringing a mega-disaster, mainly economic, on Lebanon. Now, it is true that in every generation a leader arises who tries to destroy the Land of the Cedars: In the 1970s it was Yasser Arafat, who brought in his PLO and made the place look like Sodom. Now it is Nasrallah, king of arrogance, who is making the place look like Gomorrah.
The main reason Palestine won’t come into existence is that the Arab Palestinians don’t want it, nor does Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia or Egypt, notwithstanding protestations to the contrary.

Roman Pytel, Poles for Israel Friday, July 21, 2006
